Doctors and nurses are not a monolith. For example there are some doctors, believe it or not, who are saying you don't need to vaccinate 5 year old kids. I know, crazy right?
Who’s saying anything about five years old? I’m talking about the vaccine in general, and the overwhelming consensus amongst healthcare pros is to take it for whatever it’s approved for. You’re moving goalposts here

No goalposts moved. The point is that, just like scientists, there is no one set of views that doctors uniformly hold and everyone else must follow lest they be deemed anti-science or anti-doctors.

How do you know what the overwhelming consensus is?

The vaccine is approved for 5 year olds, therefore the overwhelming consensus amonsgt healthcare pros is that all 5 years olds should take it? Anyone who questions that is anti-science/anti-doctors?

one could argue that being anti-vax implies distrust in doctors and nurses
doctors distrust other doctors
scientists distrust other scientists
(nurses dance like whores on tiktok for attention so nobody cares about them)

But the soys have created the Saint Science religion because apparently all scientists and doctors are one person, just like their zuckerbook group says :agree: Don't trust, verify.

What does anti-vax even mean? @ALC

You think vaxx have microchips.
You think vaxx don't work.
You think vaxx could possibly have negative long term effects.
You think vaxx are beneficial to some but you don't want it yourself.
You took the vaxx but you don't think it should be forced (oops, sorry wrong word, it's never forced).
You took the vaxx but don't want your 5 y.o. kid to take it.

Which ones of the above counts as anti-vax?

That's not a serious question, is it?
yes

Thank God the State is there to keep us safe from the scary virus and all those selfish spreaders :scared: Without the Govt we may have had to take care of our own health or else...
People bash on their governments as if anarchy is better. Even hunter-gatherer societies wearing loincloths with naked titties had governance. It's called social norms, social welfare, collective goods.

Denying the need for that is like saying you don't need plants. Because without your social infrastructure, your health care would consist of animal sacrifice and covering your open wounds with bear feces.

I know a lot of anti-vaxxers of the facebook conspiracy sort. I haven't heard any of them say they don't trust doctors or nurses.
My favorite are the people who cite religious objections to a Covid vaccine but somehow their God is totally cool with ripping a kidney out of a stranger and shoving it in them while taking tons of anti-rejection drugs for life.

one could argue that being anti-vax implies distrust in doctors and nurses
There's a correlation, but it's not a complete overlap though. And sometimes it's a matter of some doctors or nurses. Or some vaccines.

doctors distrust other doctors
scientists distrust other scientists

Doctors and scientists do hate on their peers a lot and totally sh*t on each other's ideas. :lol2: But that's called being a human being.

And my favorite is the news headline that says, "Science says..."

I don't know why you bother. He thinks it's equal to ask for a required seatbelt and a vaccine.

Now hold on. I very much support our #healthcareheros, especially the one on the left.

There's a bit of room for some middle ground in there, don't you think?

Fuck 'em!

Thank you, it's quite simple.

yeah five year olds are okay to take it. If their parents don’t wanna give it to them, whatever.

but acting like there’s something wrong with the vaccine is ingenious and straight up lies. It’s been FDA approved in the states and is about as safe as it gets. So what’s what issue? You can think it’ll have long term effects but then so can Covid.

and yea, the general consensus among the medical community is that the vaccine should be taken by everyone who qualifies for it. If you don’t think that’s the case, then you’re intentionally misleading yourself.

It's really not, with all evidence we have now about vaxx and covid-19, if you are for mandating them you are either a moron or obstinately dishonest.
Vaccines could be evidently a miracle of medicine (make your body 15 years younger and kill any cancer cell along the way)and still there would be no right or room for a mandate.

This is political and a question of what type of society you want to live in.

Never merge these two angles, I can only reiterate. Usefulness and the right to force it upon people

If the vaccine was any good and if the virus was any dangerous you wouldn't need to mandate shit anyway. You're being played

We have made plenty of vaccines mandatory in the past.

You can have every moral objection you want, but we've effectively ended polio in Europe through vaccines and I'm happy we did.

In 5-10 years when these vaccines prove that they are mostly safe in the long run, let's make them mandatory for newborns if it makes sense - Covid is a deadly/debilitating disease. Right now I see the medical/scientific consensus too much influenced by some 50 billion profits per year by some pharmaceutical companies.
