The way things are developing in India is absolutely horrific. It doesn't even look like it's slowing down there at all.

Shit it terrible here! The Central govt, that up until recently was sucking the Prime Minister's dick and saying how well he handled the pandemic is now putting all the blame on state govts and trying hard to manage the image of the PM while taking reactionary steps like opening oxygen plants to save some face. Meanwhile, more and more states are actively covering up the deaths due to COVID. Already many people are dying because they couldn't get a test result back in time or couldn't find an oxygen cylinder in time, and the administration is doing whatever it can to not count them as COVID deaths, in some cases even listing the cause of death as "due to illness". In one state, the chief minister is openly lying that there is no shortage of oxygen or beds in hospitals while threatening to arrest anyone complaining about these things by accusing them of spreading fake news. Not to mention the political blame game to deflect the attention from the PM and the central govt is pathetic.

SO many lives could've been saved if the govt actually cared about the citizens and their welfare, but this govt neglected it all and decided to spend the money on vanity projects and state elections, thereby worsening the scale of suffering and death. This is what a real 3rd world country looks and acts like. What's worse is that the propaganda is so strong that some people STILL refuse to blame the PM and the ruling party for it and try to absolve them even if they have very little reason to. This country is so fucked!

PS: Most of this reporting is happening from urban India. The situation is rural India is expected to be MUCH worse, with uneducated people not knowing what COVID even is to the terrible health infrastructure there, there are reports that people in villages are dropping dead like flies. Pray for us y'all. Really!

Thanks. I'm fine cos though my city now has the highest number of active infection cases, I don't have to go out much. A 2 week "lockdown" started here too so hoping that the cases drops. But everywhere else is a nightmare. Our healthcare system has collapsed so badly that people are posting on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Discord for beds, oxygen cylinders & medicines and random strangers are collaborating to verify leads and pass on information to help them. In many cases, they just can't cos the situation is so bad. Almost everyone who's reporting on this is saying that the scale of death is too terrible. This may well turn out to be one of the biggest massacres due to government negligence in recent history, IF people actually realise what they've done and not fall for their propaganda. Small chance of that happening. Still, more weeks to go before we find that out.

They are still building that new Parliament vista even when Delhi is in lockdown. Our Supreme Leader wants to finish the project right in time for the 2023 elections and doesn't want a simple thing like the pandemic to affect that.

Yes, the reports here suggest the same. Vaccinated people, even those who got only 1 shot so far, have got covid but had only mild symptoms and did not require hospitalisation. Which makes sense, cos vaccines only help develop the right anti-bodies needed to fight Covid so that when, not if, you get it you don't fall awfully sick and have a better chance to fight it off.

Our vaccinations has slowed down considerably over the last 3 weeks cos our dickhead PM decided to export vaccines to boost his international image and left us hanging dry now. He opened up vaccinations to 18-45 age groups from May 1st but most people can't even find a vaccination centre around with any stock, including me.
