why don’t they test them? if South Korea can do it, we can do it
Up until Friday only a total of ~2000 tests were carried out in the US. The reason apparently is that CDC did not want to use WHO’s test, but couldn’t produce its own test on time. Pence promised a million tests by this week, so hope that problem is at least solved.

Trump is going to hijack the usual Pence press conference that was supposed to begin an hour ago.

Would not be surprised if he announces some asinine economic stiumulus plan or asks the Fed to do more QE, either way it's stupid and not going to work. Perhaps he can have a day or two of a market rally to get into some more short positions.

Wasn't he against the QE and money printing during the candidacy? :lol2: Apparently 500 billion pumped wasn't enough. It might work, but on a short term, which is even highly debatable at this point. It's crazy, like 24 trillion debt isn't enough, but let's increase it.

Trump basically said 10 sentences and walked away while reporters yelled, "Mr. President, have you been tested for the virus?!"

The only thing of importance he said was that there are "big plans" economically he will announce tomorrow. He also cited something regarding the payroll tax... ?

    What a joke.

He did, but just like every other politician, they cave once they're in office to the usual suspects. The bankers will tell them they need stimulus, the Fed will tell them they need QE, and he won't have the backbone or the wherewithal to say no.

Yeah, I don't even blame Trump tbh. I honestly think every president would have done the same, despite the whole thing being total shit.

As for the "big plans" it surely won't be anything good. If anything it's gonna be a higher debt or another twitter lie in order to try to return the trust amongst buyers.

because our president wants to keep the numbers low
And with good reason - look how the stock market is booming. Trump's plan is working, as per usual ...

He is probably planning on giving them all the money from his inaugural fund that Ivanka didn't manage to embezzle

Every president would move to calm the public by taking action on public safety, such as increase number of tests, lifting the financial burdens to test, increasing intensive care capacity, etc. Trump compares this to flu to downplay it because higher numbers would look bad. He said he’ll continue to hold rallies too.
