Well, if Conte didn't start Storari, then why would he start Del Piero?

They went in a package. The pressure was big to play Del Piero this year. Conte handled it well, but had to give him at least the Coppa. Then a story was created how some players need to get playing time, how the Coppa is for that, bla, bla, bla. In order not to make it only about Del Piero, other players (in this case Storari) were put in the same situation as Del Piero.

In short, if Conte played Buffon instead of Storari, then all the crap from above would have been nullified. Storari's presence on the pitch tonight was a consequence of Del Piero's presence. If Conte didn't have the Del Piero problem this year, we were never gonna have the crap about "Coppa players" and Buffon was gonna be on goal against Roma, Milan and Napoli tonight.
what? what does storari have anything to do with del piero?

we all don't know yet since we aren't in CL yet; however signs are that borriello are going to old trafford, bernabeu, allianz and etc :sergio: let's we all pray that it won't happen
Oh, so you actually need to wait and see next season to know that Conte won't field his team in the Champions League based on sentimental promises? :lol2:

He will choose the best team available for the competitions that matter, like he has done during our entire Serie-A season.

17 years without Coppa Italia trophy, 16 years without win in the final match, and people are still mad about Delneri's words.....we are doomed
Yeah, except that I'm not mad nor I am 'people'.

And why didn't Conte play Pepe for Esti and Quag/Matri for Borri?

If he thought those would do better, he had no reason not to play them. Pepe wasn't really gonna give more than Esti in a 3-5-2 as a wingback. In a 4-3-3 yes, but not in a 3-5-2. As for Borri vs Matri/Quag, Borriello was the preferred choice even in serie A, or at least, those two weren't preferred to Borriello.
I'm telling you, only Buffon for Storari and Mirko for DP were gonna be the differences if Conte played what he thought was "the best available".

Actually, if Conte wanted to play the best available we were gonna play 4-3-3 with Pepe instead of Esti and Mirko instead of DP.
I understand the point you're trying to make Alen, that there's not much difference between our A and B team on paper.. However we play much better even with that little change.
To me our set-up against Cagliari (the title winning match) is the "best available" which had both Pepe on wingback and Matri starting. I'm pretty sure Conte wanted to field mostly our bench players, give them a run for this final, hence my coppa team comment.

explain borriello then? why did borriello get a rank above matri and quaq who scored 10x more goals for juve already? remember borriello has started for how many games in serie a since he came, remember the hug too? wasn't that in serie a?

I don't need to explain anything to a person who thinks that he can pick the team from his armchair, without seeing what's going on at Vinovo on our training ground every day. Conte has faith in Borriello. A lot of people don't like that, which is understandable, but in that case, take your frustration out on Conte. I don't see why you have to take it out on me.

Interesting theory, never thought of it this way and I can't find anything to counter argue against it.

I think it wasnt the fact that the starting 11 was like it was, it was because the players didnt look like they wanted to win,no hunger.I would rather have Marrone,Giac started if I knew Vidal and Marchi was gonna play like they did.
Thats what disappointed me, no matter who started,it was our 3-5-2, very used to it,Although Licht would have been better on the bench, and use Giac, but, nonetheless,we should played with more heart,it was the final afterall, even if it wasnt our biggest legend's final match,we still should have played for the win, not like it was a friendly match, instead on the last match for our legendary captain, our players played like crap, and Conte not really pushing them to win was the thing that got me disappointed..

Our final chance to get Del Piero leaving the same way he came, and we blew for it. No silver star,I dont know when that will come.

I doubt any juve player would envy del piero got the wild card on the final as his last ever match with juve PERIOD. the whole if DP had to start then other 2nd string players must started to is bullshit.
