That's a special season. We'll see from the next one. This year we should all really thank the players and Conte, pay our respects to our legend who is leaving unfortunately and PREPARE for a next year with huge responsibilities , great expectations and our chance to establish ourselves once again as the undisputed champions of serie A and return to europe's elite.
If you loose a coppa final next season , critisize them. But this year , it's really hard to do so.
It's all in Agnelli's , Marotta's and Conte's hands form now on. Built a team to rappe all the opponents and being able to win every competition possible.

Do we get to win the Coppa if we somehow manage to count results from previous seasons?
I expect to see an article on our official website about how we're beating Napoli on aggregate in the Coppa.

So basically, a lot of people are saying that Conte ruined Del Piero's last match by not playing the first 11, but had he played the first 11 Del Piero would not have played, and then they would have said he ruined his last game for not playing him. Go figure.
Yup, same thinking here. We weren't gonna play 4-3-3 because of Del Piero. It was clear that we'll play 3-5-2. In such situation we had no other choices in defense and midfield (Esti was defo gonna be the preferred wingback to Giac and Pepe) and the only chances if we played the "best available" were gonna be in attack and GK place. Borriello is getting the starts lately and he was 100% chosen not because Conte wanted to play the B team, but because he thinks Borri will give more than Matri and Quag.
So, basically, it only leaves Del Piero and Storari. If Conte chose the best he had (or the best he thinks he has) Del Piero wasn't gonna play tonight. In short, we didn't play the best team because Del Piero had to play. So, those of you who blame Conte for not playing the best squad, was Conte supposed not to play Del Piero?

Those of you who complain about not playing our best team....are you aware that if Conte was choosing the best available, he was gonna play these same guys, minus Del Piero and Storari?
Buffon and Vucinic would have played instead of those two and the rest were gonna be the same.
And Pepe for Esti , Quag/Matri for Borri

When a trophy is available, I want to see our team lift it and not allow teams like Napoli, Milan or Inter get it instead. I appear to be a lot more upset about just losing to tonight than most, even though I am wholly thankful for everything done up till now.

You could blame Conte for the selection, but I think the biggest blame goes to the players who decided that the summer holidays begin early this season. It took a Napoli goal for them to realise that they aren't actually 'invincible' as the season would suggest, and then they decided to play more to their potential, and more into Napoli's hands...

I can't believe this is how the Del Piero story finishes.

Yes, it was just the Coppa Italia. But what bugs me is that it was a match laden with sentimentality and entitlements over the typical Juve drive to win at all costs.

The reason you play a "Coppa" squad is because you want to offer a little rest to your regular season players. With the Scudetto won, that should have been null and void. You didn't see Napoli fielding second team players, did you?

I love Conte and this team, and it's done amazing things. It is just the Coppa. But we really could have won this cup and chose not to.
    This!

napoli really wanted this, and played like we did all season, with aggression and determination. They way we played we wouldnt have won this no matter which players we fielded.

Props to conte for keeping his word and letting the players who got to the final, play the final. more important that the players know that conte keeps his word and is a man of honour, than potentially win a pretty meaningless cup.

    Agree completely.

We fucked an almost perfect season up in the end, thanks to some fucked up decisions by Conte and ref.

Borriello is a plot against Juventus and our shitty striker deparment is over crowded since 2006.
Estigarribia should not be bought. Lichtsteiner is useless at right side of 3-5-2. We should have stick with 4-3-3 as we don't have quality wing backs.

Agreed, thought he was awesome all game, bossed our midfield around.

I cant believe how many finals we lose, no matter what era it is.

And Pepe for Esti , Quag/Matri for Borri
And why didn't Conte play Pepe for Esti and Quag/Matri for Borri?

If he thought those would do better, he had no reason not to play them. Pepe wasn't really gonna give more than Esti in a 3-5-2 as a wingback. In a 4-3-3 yes, but not in a 3-5-2. As for Borri vs Matri/Quag, Borriello was the preferred choice even in serie A, or at least, those two weren't preferred to Borriello.
I'm telling you, only Buffon for Storari and Mirko for DP were gonna be the differences if Conte played what he thought was "the best available".

Actually, if Conte wanted to play the best available we were gonna play 4-3-3 with Pepe instead of Esti and Mirko instead of DP.

About the first squad-coppa squad dilemma, you need to think about both the trust Conte has earned as well as the chemistry of the team. The Coppa team won their way into the final, they were promised to play the cup. I think it would've been shameful by Conte to strap them from the final they had got to.

It is simple....Juventus didnt show up today... Our players didnt show up...We made it extremely easy for Napoli. I dont know if our players were still hung over from all the sex and alcohol after winning the Scudetto, but they simply didnt show up today....
