Disappointing but not devastating. It was expected that Napoli will push more for the win after their disappointing season and that we will be still drunk from our amazing season. Even with these conditions we still showed up and tried making the match as even as it gets. The thing that makes me most disappointed is that was Del Piero's last match and it ended like that, ironic but considering how many finals this guy has lost ...

I thought Lichtsteiner was our worst player today together with Vidal and Marchisio who gave the ball away too cheaply and made a lot of mistakes.

Storari 5.5

Barzagli 6.5
Bonucci 5.5
Caceres 5.5

Lichtsteiner 4
Vidal 5
Pirlo 6
Marchisio 5
Estigarribia 5.5

Del Piero 5.5
Borriello 5.5

Pepe 6
Vucinic 5
Quagliarella 5

the referees were horrible, then he woke up just in Napoli's penalty. we got pressure on their defense and won a corner he gave them a GK stupid ref completely killed our momentum every time.
Yeah. Ref was a fucking joke. Napoli always seem to get favorable decisions from the refs.

This.

And a part of me is really happy that Conte is a man of his word, a man of honor, when it comes to his group of players. He said at the beginning of the season that, in Coppa Italia, some second string players will play more. Storari in goal etc. He stuck to that, even though a "trophy" was on the line.

I know some may have a problem with that, but I for one, simply love it. This is the way to create a united group. This is the way to create a winning family (which sounds weird considering we lost on the night, but think about it in a broader perspective).

This was just the coppa italia. We're now off to bigger and better things! Let's focus on how to defend our scudetto and getting far in the Champions League (preferably the final).

I agree completely with this post. If anything, I held it against Conte that he didnt start Giaccherini and Marrone in the first 11.

And in any case, this was very cloise to our first 11, the defence was the best we had, the midfield was the best we had with the exception of Esti but I'm not sure who else could have played there, maybe Giacc, and in the attack only Vuci would play instead of Boriello, as Boriello has starterd in the league as well so its not sure matri would have started anyway.

So basically, a lot of people are saying that Conte ruined Del Piero's last match by not playing the first 11, but had he played the first 11 Del Piero would not have played, and then they would have said he ruined his last game for not playing him. Go figure.

The team field should be good enough to win. We only got our self to blame for this game. Mistake in defense allowed Napoli to get the penalty. Once they got the penalty , Juve played a more offensive line up and opened up more space to allow Napoli to counter. This game showed that we need quality on the bench as well, a couple of top notch quality players to cover when our main stay are out. Bonucci couldn't lead the defense without Chiellini , and Marchisio apart from the the couple of shots, didn't really showed much, that injury at the end of the game didn't help him much either.

Storari is not Buffon, but didnt we know that before the final?
Bonucci always does such mistakes, didnt we know that before the final?
They were given a penalty and us not, twice, we were given a red card and them none, is this smth new?
EstiG tries hard, but he is not quite the Vucinic or Quaq we need to posse a threat in a such a game.
Borriello is completely useless and his only use to make sure that the tempo will be slow and we wont score, is this what you want in a final?
Didnt we know that this was DP's last game, ever with us?
Didnt we know that from next year we wont afford to play our starters in the cup?
Didnt we know, that to make an undefeated season, its better not to participate in Europe and its gonna be a long time till we ever get that chance again?

And yet, we gifted them this cup... it was our choice, despite of what it was our stake...
Why? I m sure there is one man that can answer to this, and thats Conte!
I am happy that we lost this final so you will get new material for your posts now that the summer and the transfers are coming.

Storari, Esti, Borriello, Quag instead of Matri ... maybe it's true that Conte is fixing matches :D

those referees were blind today

It's sad to see Conte starting on the backfoot by choosing such a starting lineup. But with the refs being against us all game, there's no way we could've won it anyway. Pity that Del Piero didn't get the best send off. Now we can only look to the future and build on this great season.

Thank you, Conte. And thank you Ale!

Wait for a disaster when Storari in the net , nothing personal but damn, he is panic alwayssssss

Thats such an exaggeration, Storari has always been great for us and I dont remember him making a mistake like Buffon has against Lecce. So had Buffon played the result might have been the same.

We should be talking about Alex, il Capitano. Reveling at what a career he has had, this is the end of his era here with Juventus. It was his final bow, we shouldn't make it worse than it probably already is for him.

napoli really wanted this, and played like we did all season, with aggression and determination. They way we played we wouldnt have won this no matter which players we fielded.

Props to conte for keeping his word and letting the players who got to the final, play the final. more important that the players know that conte keeps his word and is a man of honour, than potentially win a pretty meaningless cup.
