@Siamak

The Iranians do it better lol

I think Europeans see this as disrespectful, but here in iran we make everything into joke and fun, i know you guys are high class and grow up with discipline but in iran everything is different. I myself was a fan of Hitler and he was my idiol when i was a child.
Note: Sorry if i come from different culture with different background and say something which is opposite to your tigh hole taste.

Don't worry my, G. I completely understand you. People back home also do stuff like this and make jokes about Jews being turned into soap, etc.

Everyone makes crude jokes in private. The insult is putting them online.

It's tough to understand the Argentinians here too. They won a tournament in which France didn't even compete. And they did beat France in the World Cup final, but on penalties. It cost them blood, sweat, tears and a good amount of pure luck. If anything what they should be experiencing now is sheer bliss. Yet there is only spite.

It is a catchy song, that's why they're singing it. Argies are sore losers and winners though. Not an ounce of humbleness when they win.

The French are famously strict when it comes to religious symbols.

I'm going to be completely honest: I haven't really read enough on the subject to have a solid opinion on this. On the one hand I think everyone should be able to wear what they want when competing, on the other hand I have a bad gut feeling about the hijab in general. But like I said, I just don't know enough about it.

Irrespective on the stance on hijab, it's matter of consistency imo you can't get offended over a song that calls people of different looks/cultures not a 100% french then turn around and restrict cultural expression of your athletes.

I think they’re pretty separate things. Mbappe is as French as Enzo is Argentinian, it’s a pretty racist song. Race and religion aren’t equal things.

They aren't equal indeed, religion is much more important than race to the vast majority of the world population. And the hijab ban is not just about hurt feelings, it's literal discrimination which is a much more serious matter than a song calling frogs of african origin not 100% french.

On the flip side you get alot of Asians who can barely speak or understand a word of English, yet they run businesses sometimes illegally in England (I know this through my line of insurance work) and what's worse is those who come to England, don't even embrace its way of life or its laws but spends the weekends protesting for sharia law and trying to get the government to conform it their ways.
Whether it's illegal businesses, tax evasion, or fraud it goes for a lot of immigrants, irrespective of where they are from, whether they are Asian, African or Eastern European.

Them protests are all thing of them past, it was prevalent in 90s and then slowly the funding to Hizb ut talhrir which is a extremest group were cut off and then they were banned. Not sure why it took the UK authorities this long but thank god for that. Anyway not heard or seen anything since then. There's a better chance of the English Defence League all coming out to protest and attack Muslims.

The hijab should represent for us that have western values , a remainder that the females who are obliged to weare them are still considered second rate citizens in the countries/zones/communities that employ said religion.
I concur that the French government should not allow atlets to advertise such 14th century ideals in 2024.
