I don't know what's more embarrassing: his miss, or the excuses his fanboys are making in the comment section.
Whats with all this Messi hate? the guy cant miss a chance? Before we signed Ronaldo a lot of the people on this forum used to call him arrogant and hated on him, now you suck his wiener every day, damn hypocrites

In the Argentinian history books it will be Higuain who missed that shot.
And rightly so, he is a useless weasel

i have watched my National team for about 20 years closely, and it has been a mess for a long time.

Chaos, Bad management (Maradona was elected coach for instance), poor team selections, and the lack of a true playstyle & identity has been a big problem for a long stretch.

There is a whole lot of talent, but no organization, no balance, no fluidity and the defensive structure of the team has been left in a huge void after swapping the likes of absolute rocks like Walter Samuel, Zanetti, Ayala & Cambiasso which gave the team a robust base & its offensive freedom, with the likes of Otamendi and Rojo.

The balance is not there anymore and to constantly put the blame on Messi is a bit tedious tbh and not remotely true (apart from specific examples like the penalty kick against Chile in copa america, which was indeed a huge choke)

Ronaldo went out in last WC, and so what? is it his fault? what kind of babyback bullshit argument is that? its not even close to the actual truth. This is a team sport after all.

individuals can make a difference (and big players often do) , sure, i agree, but there is limits to this argument and wether the responsibility lies on one player in every freaking match.

There are far more important factors that make a team succesfull, and especially in big tournaments like the WC and so on. As a Juve fan you should know that, our team has been built on a strong identity and base for many years, not individuals. Just look at Germanys national team and so on, or on the extreme, Greece when they won with Rehhagel.

lol, Bola, the equivalent of goal.com in Portugese, nice source.

Lets put that aside and say that the article is 100% correct and it is indeed the case. That would only exemplify my point: the management is totally clueless and the National team is a in a mess.

What's up Higuains, Icardis and even Dybalas not called up or don't even play till the last game? I have a feeling that Argentina is Messi and his friends, and whoever doesn't stand by it gets pushed aside.

Higuain has had his chances. i dont think he will ever return again. Icardi is disliked by many because of personal problems with people, for different reasons, personally i think he should be given the chance more, he has a disgusting personality, but is also a very good poacher. Dybala got subbed in against Qatar in todays game and completely changed the game, so he is doing well.

Messi might have power in that team beyond "normal" players, sure, but to suggest he runs the show alone is borderline paranoid
