Why are people mentioning Ferrara? Just because he was a great player doesn't make him a great manager, especially considering his lack of experience. Look at Guardiola in Barca. Rijkaard and Mancini were great players as well, but they are not excellent managers. If Ferrara had a decent track of managing clubs, I'd give him a chance, but as of now let him gain his managerial experience somewhere else first.

My first choices are Prandelli and Benitez, and quite frankly both of them are realistic options (at the end of the season)

I would not mind Avram Grant or Bernd Schuster either.
And van Basten and Klinsmann weren't proven managers, yet they did well with their respective national teams.

Avram Grant was also a newbie in the season he was runner up in the EPL, CL and also one of the cups, if I'm not mistaken.

And Koeman and Ramos were supposed to be proven, yet they sucked big time in Valencia and now Tottenham respectively.
