thank you tinkerman your decisions have been a lot better of late, although not making any subs was weird considering the situation. but any ways congratulations.
Maybe he's planning to rest many of the players that should of got a rest against Lazio in the latter part of the match.. Maybe he didnt feel the need to give players like Palla any game time cos he's planning to play them from the start in the next few matches???

San Siro Victory The Best Moment - Ranieri
Claudio Ranieri looked back on Juve's season, praising Alessandro Del Piero and singling out the win over Inter as the team's finest moment.Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri took the opportunity of the press conference about their summer tour of Asia to talk about the team's season, which has seen them comfortably qualify for the Champions League preliminaries with three games to go.

"This team always managed to react after defeats," he said. "A team is formed by the combination of its knowledge and experience. This team has been through victories and defeats.

"The most difficult moment? Perhaps after the defeat against Fiorentina. The best moment was the victory at San Siro against Inter. The difference between a season with and without cups? It's a big difference, and we took advantage of that."

Ranieri doesn't think the team needs a lot of new purchases to win next season: "What do we need to change? We don't need to change, but to improve, inserting other players to support our five more experienced ones [Buffon, Del Piero, Camoranesi, Trezeguet, and Nedved]."

On captain Alessandro Del Piero, who's had perhaps his best season ever, he said: "He's the one that surprised me the most. Until december he wasn't at his best, because he'd had some problems during the summer training. Then he found a better rhythm, and never looked back until today."

CL bid acquired, mission complete for 2007-2008.

now lets can ranieri and get a big time manager :cough: mourinho :cough: so we can bring in some big time talent and get back to glory

Claudio, it was bittersweet to put it at best. you did your job, which was to get us back into the CL, i will not praise you for doing your job which was to win (we're still not at the top of the table, and its not complacency from my end), its what a coach is supposed to do, kinda like a salesman's job is to sell.

i suggest everyone thank him but don't suck his nuts for too long.

Well done to Ranieri. When i heard about his appointment as a coach I did not expect that he would survive more than december.

Anyway, he made some of us wrong and im happy.

Oh, and if someone still complain about long balls sometimes, we know that is EPL style and they are the best and strongest in europe so why not..
Only Arsenal plays "better" but they did not win anything in 3 years so who cares about it..
Get us 3-4 new players and lets win next year..

You never cease to amaze me.

Are you serious with your posts? You think we should emulate the EPL because they are the "best and strongest" in Europe.......Please explain this logic. I'm not sure if you are aware but you know that there is differences between leagues for a reason. Not everyone wants to watch the EPL on a daily basis.

What is with your obsession with Ranieri? Always have to make excuses for his downfalls.

EPL is best league for last few years.
It's much bigger and better business than in here and of course it has better teams than we have. I see EPL every week on TV and i would not like to play against them..

Just remind yourself of current CL.... 3 teams are from UK..
Where are the italians??

Because we look terrible with it!We don`t know how to play them and we just lose our play!

While playing it our opponents take the advantage of the game.

We should MAYBE play long balls at 90th minute when we lead 1-0 against Inter or Roma to try to get away with win and not use them after 50 min against some mid table team like Milan or someone when we lead 2-0 and control the match!

We should not play long balls nor any other team in Italy as their style.Ranieri can screw himself and go back to England if he wants to continue using that crap.

Might be a little offtopic but i have to respond to that thread. Leave ranieri out for a moment, i don't want to talk about whether or not he should "emulate EPL" (barring the fact that it's impossible to "emulate" that...) but have you actually seen EPL-games? they're fun to watch! I agree that technique-wise they might not be on the highest level (although the times when EPL was more like rugby are definately over!) but the games are fast, attacking, and just plain fun to watch. Comparing some games (especially mid-table games) from serie-a with epl, i'd say epl is far more attractive for the neutral observer. And then, as already stated; 3 out of 4 half-final CL spots says enough. Plus, barca looks like it's going out tonight... that would make them all english. So there must be SOMETHING they are doing right.

Back to what has been said; of course ranieri can't put up some premier league tactics up here, every dumbass knows that... but the last 2 games have shown that some attacking football might be just the thing we need. Whether or not this has something to do with EPL, i don't care. I just like how we played our last games. We just have to keep in mind that we played against weakly put up opponents.

To the topic in general; i find it funny how, after 2 or 3 consecutive wins, everyone hails ranieri and says he'd never expected him to succeed and then, if we loose a game, everyone says the 'he knew' ranieri wasn't made for juve. Those who follow this thread know that i always somehow defended CR for what he did, and wanted people to give our mister a honest chance. Now, i must say that we should keep our feet to the ground. I mean we didn't reach anything except CL-qualification. No coppa, no real chance for the scudetto. I mean i give ranieri all the respect he deserves (i always did, even in 'bad times') but let's not get too excited - his job doesn't finish with this season. It goes on and next year, we have to be competitive for the scudetto, and that will be very hard.

So, i say thanks to ranieri for what he did, but i say 'keep it up'. because his job is not over yet, and i'm glad he 'survived' all the bad times and could finally end the season with something good, namely 3rd place in serie-a and a CL-qualification

but also Milan was something else last year????

U remember roma and man u. last year?

Im just saying 3 of 4 teams in semifinals are from UK..And it should mean something..
I believe that the EPL has become stronger, it improves regularly. But the huge gap which has formed between the EPL and the Serie A isn't mainly due to the English for knowing from where they can get the money, it's also related to the corruption of the Serie A which has made a team like Inter wins the Scudetto three time on the trot.

Christ Jesus. You seriously want us to play English football? Does that EVER work in international football or in European football, I mean EVER? NO, it certainly does NOT.

How many times have we seen the English National Team crash out of tournaments because they don't understand how to hold the ball, and how many times have we seen English sides in Europe crash out because they don't have the right tactical prowess and brains to pull out results since Brian Clough passed away from football? I mean, Liverpool and Chelsea don't even play English football... they pack their defense and hit on counters quickly like some screwed up yet successful version of catennacio. These English sides in the Champions League right now are anything but English and actually don't really play English football.

Do you even understand what you're saying? The reason why Capello had a miserable record in Europe with us is because he made our team play long balls, which clearly did not work whatsoever. And Ranieri will do the same retarded crap because that's what we have done all season long. If so, count me out from this "tactical brilliance" hitting and hoping like a goddamn BASEBALL team.

Try to think about this stuff before you post, Lampard.
