Last night's debacle was disappointing more than anything from Ranieri.

As i said in the match thread there i completely understand that he started with that formation but there were other decisions that i want to focus on.

There was a risk in starting with the 433 last night as we have a weakened defense and exposing it by starting either almiron or Tiago was too great and i agree with him from that perspective.

So understandably the only options in the center of midfield were brazzo and grygera. Brazzo is the obvious option as we need grygera in the back line.
So we would playing a player out of position to keep the balance, so going with the 433 would be an obvious risk there. As consistently this season it wasn't our formation.

Add to that marchionni played really well on the wing in midweek, so all those were factors leading to starting with the 442.

We did well in the first half, controlled the game and went really close on several occasions.

The DP sub was the obvious mistake he did as we lost the creativity from the front line, which was absolutely needed as they flooded the midfield.

Introducing Iaquinta also limited his substitution options. As he would've had a real ace up his sleeve if he had waited and could've easily put him on the right instead of an ineffective marchionni. I thought he really shot himself in the foot there.

The other mistake was that he kept brazzo there in the midfield when it was really evident that we couldn't get anything through the midfield as it wasn't creative enough.

If he doesn't have any faith in both Almiron and Tiago then he should sell them today before tomorrow as a 4 year old would've seen that we need something else in the center of the midfield.

It wasn't only about Ranieri's lack of adventurousness, but also about his lack of preparation(One characteristic i really admired in him, just remember the Inter game) and finally he read the game all wrong.

He needs to wise up because when the coach starts having off days then we have major issues.

Milan have 3 games in hand, if they win them all they will be 4 points behind us. I see them eventually overtaking us. We will be fighting for that 4th place. We dropped 4 points in the last 2 weeks vs a mediocre Catania and we blew it vs Samp. Fiorentina are unstoppable now and could easily take away our 4th place. Ranieri is a joke, i stood by him all this time but after yesterday's disastrous bonehead decision to take of DP I have lost all faith in him and the future is bleak with CR in charge.
If our retarded board won't bring in Lippi please bring in anyone else!

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has admitted that his team lack the quality to clinch the Serie A title.

“We’re simply not good enough.”

That’s the opinion of the Juve boss, after witnessing his team put out a lacklustre effort against Sampdoria to draw 0-0 at home on Sunday.

Just a week earlier, Alessandro Del Piero’s last-gasp penalty salvaged a point and a 1-1 draw at Catania. Those two consecutive draws leave Juventus 12 points behind champions and league leaders Inter Milan. Inter, meanwhile, came from behind to beat struggling Parma 3-2.

And, Rainieri conceded that there’s little chance of Juventus winning the Scudetto this season.

"We're not at the same level as the big teams," he said.

"Congratulations to Sampdoria, they played well. We had the chances but we needed to convert them. Of course, we can't always win but our position in the league hasn't changed much.

“For us (Juventus), I believe we’ll need to strengthen the squad and do our best for the rest of the season.”

Although Ranieri intends to bolster his squad with new players, he has faced frustration in signing the players that he wants. He said: "We will certainly do something but we have to find the right player for us. If they're looking at Milan or Inter, then they certainly won't be joining us."

Meanwhile, Juve goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon believes that his teammates shouldn’t be concerned about winning the Serie A crown anymore. Instead, the Italian international has advised them to be wary with the teams behind them, who are competing with them for the four automatic Champions League places. Fiorentina's third consecutive win cut their gap to Juve to three points while European champions AC Milan have been resurgent, despite being in ninth place - they have three games in hand on their rivals.

"I've said before that we expect Milan to come back into the Champions League race and they've proved me right and are looking dangerous once again," said Buffon.

Milan spent their three-week winter break training in Dubai and have won both their matches since the Serie A season resumed.

Finally the truth has been spoken which many fans refused to believe and kept on bablling about winning the Scudetto and now that the truth has been said, Ranieri goes public. Terrible decisions all the time.

you are bit stupid or just pretending to be one, as

- Our board will not do that unless we go to 5-6th spot very soon
- Changes are not good in middle of season
- Dont think anyone would do better with this squad and with little or no squad improvements no one will expect it more
- no good coach will take this Juve in the middle of season
- signing petition will not help do get rid of Ranieri..

aren't you all just a bit overreacting after a dissapointing result?
keep cool guys, we are still in third altough we need to be wary of Fiorentina and Milan. As for Tiago, ofcourse they are forcing him out of the club. I doubt we have the financial means to get other players if he won't leave.
I also doubt Ranieri will stay for next season any way but firing him now won't solve anything. That is never a good sollution in the middle of the season and certainly not right after the winter break. He still is our coach and I will support him till after the last game.

FFS he made a mistake in bringing off Alex,unless he was feeling a knock, in taht case it was good management!
we are not the juve of 2 years ago, not by a long way. folk see gigi,alex,trez and camo and think we should be battering everyone but,put simply we have NO depth to teh squad. we brought in 3 players to make an impact, 2 have failed and 1 is long-term injured taht leaves us very thin on cover. why else would molinaro, birindelli or even legro have been first choices this season?

ranieir is not the man to deliver a championship but give him till the end of teh season, fiorentina are relying heavily on mutu but will hit a form dip before the end of the season, milan have games in hand but unless they sort out their frailties they will struggle to make up ground. we are ina better position than many considered possible, lets get behind the team and push on for a CL place. next season we should have better squad options and a better chance of success

Ranieri Praises Summer Buys, Admits Sissoko Could Move

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has surprisingly stated that last summer’s transfer campaign was “positive”, and he admits that Momo Sissoko could soon join the club.

The Bianconeri have been generally blasted in the Italian media for their summer purchases with Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron, who signed for a combined fee of €22m flopping terribly.

Another expensive purchase, Jorge Andrade, is out for most of the season with a long-term injury, while the likes of Hasan Salihamidzic and Zdenek Grygera have also failed to set the place on fire.

"Certainly we have made mistakes but in general our purchases from the summer have been positive," Ranieri told Radio Anch'io.

"Although it is undeniable that some of the players have paid a price for the burden on someone who puts on the Bianconeri shirt.

"And my biggest concern has been Tiago, a player I have followed since he played in Portugal.

"He has all the characteristics to be a great player and I cannot understand why he is unable to make the breakthrough here."

With Tiago looking likely to leave the club this month, possibly to Spurs, one player who could join the Bianconeri is Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko.

Ranieri is a huge admirer of the Malian international, and a €13-15m transfer has been mooted.

“Sissoko could arrive," the Tinkerman admitted.

"He is a good player that could fit into the pattern of our team."

Ranieri ends Scudetto hunt

Claudio Ranieri concedes that Juventus’ Scudetto hopes died with a draw against Sampdoria, but he remains delighted by his side’s campaign.

Despite a host of near misses, Juve were unable to break the deadlock against Sampdoria and fell 12 points behind leaders Inter after the Nerazzurri fortunate win over Parma.

While the target for the Old Lady has always been Champions League qualification rather than the title, Ranieri had been willing to dream about an unlikely Scudetto until now.

“There is real gap now and you couldn’t close it in six months or even a year,” the Bianconeri boss stated on Radio Anch’io Sport.

“You could say that we missed the train for the Scudetto, but in reality we just need to focus internally and build a base for next year.
