Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri is confident ahead of the coming season on the Bianconeri bench. “The group has always been the key.”
The Old Lady squad met in Vinovo this morning to begin their pre-season training and the new tactician is ready to start work in view of the 2007-08 Serie A campaign.
“I am very happy, the lads who arrived here are all eager to train, both the old players and the new ones,” Ranieri told Juventus Channel.
“This is an excellent sign for me, we are all curious to see this team in action and I am probably the most curious one of all,” added the former Chelsea boss.
“The group has always been one of the keys to this club’s success. I can still remember Marcello Lippi’s Juve, who managed to triumph thanks to their tenacity, determination and desire to win.
“That is what I want as well, we have to immediately create the right atmosphere between the Coach and the team and between the players themselves.”
Ranieri could not avoid questions on the season’s objectives, but the Coach preferred to play it cool.
“It isn’t easy to make any comparisons with last year as we were in Serie B – and this is the last time I mention that word.
“There are other clubs who have to win the Scudetto, we must mainly try to disturb them. The 2005 team was great, but it doesn’t exist anymore,” outlined the ex-Parma Coach.
“In any case, I am very happy with the work done by the club, we have secured some good signings. Next year will be stimulating and we can’t wait to start,” concluded Ranieri.

claudio ranieri has always been good with the media and has made diplomatic comments throughout his coaching career. But this has not materialezed into a solid achievement.
So I do respect Ranieri, but we'll see whether he's really the coach we need to win prizes. ofcourse as a Juve fan Im optimistic.

Claudio Ranieri has revealed his approach to pre-season training with Juventus. “No trainers here, I want to see football boots from the start!”
The Bianconeri have started their 'ritiro’ in Pinzolo to prepare for the new campaign and immediately discovered the Coach does things differently from predecessor Didier Deschamps.
“My teams work with the ball from the very start, even if it’s in small doses,” said the former Chelsea and Parma boss.
“When we arrived on the field, I saw that the lads were wearing trainers, so I immediately told them to put on their football boots. That allows them to work better, with a smile on their faces.
“The work we will be doing in these first days will be physical and tactical, trying to improve both resistance and strength, mixing them together rather than focusing on one ahead of the other. This method was in part influenced by my experiences abroad.”
Ranieri returned to Italian football midway through last season to rescue Parma from relegation after spells in England and Spain.
Not only are Juventus the only major club to have changed Coach this summer, but they have also come up from Serie B with a host of new signings.
“I like the positive spirit I can see in this squad,” continued Ranieri. “There are those who only had a fortnight to rest as they played the European Under-21 Championships, while Alessandro Del Piero has a slight injury and everyone is really eager to get going.
“In this phase it is crucial to forge a team mentality, allowing me to know the players and above all for them to know me. Our rivals are already united, whereas we have to find our identity. This is why the pre-season ritiro is decisive.”
