In my last post on this thread I said that I have nothing to do about us signing Ranieri bar supporting him and giving him a chance before my judgment. Yet, there are two essential points that I can't fathom to be honest and need to be clarified. People say that we should give him a chance and they forget or they're trying to ignore two important factors; the age factor and the time factor.

Didier Deschamps is a young coach whose experience is limited, even though he did a great job with Monaco especially in Europe as well as with Juventus. But Ranieri isn't a young coach to say that we should just give him blindly a chance to prove himself. The man has been given dozens of chances in Italy, Spain and England. I'm blatantly not saying that he'll fail with us, but the man has limits, his age and his past experience can't be ignored. On another note, people keep on saying that Lippi is done with Juve, despite the latter is just three years older than Ranieri. And even if he won everything with Juventus, how can we know that he is no longer motivated, how? Comparing Lippi to Alex Ferguson, we'll realise that Alex Ferguson is six years older than Lippi, Ferguson is still motivated though. In my opinion, the motivation point is groundless, and some of us here use it as an advantage to Ranieri just to feel secure about our very near future. Definitely at that old age he's gained a lot of experience. But, in order not to over-hype him, just check his CV.

Another thing; the time factor. The majority of fans who have faith in Ranieri praise him for building good squads to Chelsea and Valencia, a thing which I can't deny. But in how many years? And most importantly what did he achieve with them? I know that we're living a very critical period in the history of Juventus and we should re-build the squad, I've always said that even before Capello's era. But everything has been turned upside down after our demotion. Our primary mission was earning promotion to Serie A as soon as possible and it was accomplished perfectly. Now, we're back to our rightful place and new missions have become a must, otherwise we'd face a crisis which may last years like the period between 1986 and 1994. The first mission should be earning a champions league spot and this is the most important one. Hence, we can restore some of our reputation, but obviously not all of it. What is more, we should convince our opponents before our friends. And don't tell me that you'll be satisfied if we beat Torino 3-0 and get thrashed by Inter 4-0. Our direct clashes with our big opponents should be taken strongly into account. Furthermore, re-building our team shall be our second mission but not the first. In fact, I believe we're capable of doing it.

To sum it up, I'm not against Ranieri, but I don't want the momentum and enthusiasm of the moment to take us too far. Yes, he is capable of re-forming the squad, but this shan't be his primary mission. Quite frankly, earning a champions league spot with convincing and classy performance would be quite perfect.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't Deschamps's Monaco beat Ranieri's Chelsea in the CL semi-final in 2004 ? Funny that...

here's the thing... Ranieri is the new head coach, and we have to deal with it either we like it or not. So, the only thin we can do is to wish him good luck...

Personally i dont like that decision. I really think its mediocre.

First of all, Ranieri doesnt have a strong hand. He lacks caracter. I think he's going to be kind of a puppet to our directors. Is well known that one of Ranieri's biggest flaws is his big heart. Let's just hope he doesnt get drag around.

Another negative point, is that Ranieri isnt an appealing coach for the players on the market. I woud've hated that cappello came back... but we have to admit that those kind of coaches only have to make a phone call to a desired player and they're on our team (i miss moggi too!! with the market stuff). Lippi would have brought great players with him too, but unlcky for us his son is in sea of shit, and i think he will drown on it.

Im getting kind of sick of the new management. Blanc keeps on with the "long term project" shit. We are used to be winners!!! we cant deal with our management telling us that we will be on top again in 5 years! screw them! I didnt like it either when Ranieri said on the press conference that ppl shouldnt say: "we are going to win the scudetto this year". What kind of looser crap is that!? c'mon! if we dont look straight to the top, it will be hard to even get a CL spot. They need to say: "We are JUVE! it doesnt matter that we dont have a lot of great players anymore, in this tournament WE are the ones to beat! And Inter knows that and Milan knows that!! so we should believe it also! dont come with that 5 years crap! we wont admit it!

Ranieri is a midtable coach. Juve is not a midtable team. It's going to be a clash of mentalities and I'm hoping it's the team that prevails rather than the coach.

It's not ideal. I personally would have rather seen what DD could have done with another couple of years under his belt at the helm of Juventus to see what we could do in Serie A and to develop some of our younger players. But I'll take Ranieri.

This story is over now, and he has my support.

Forza Juventus!
Same here

Tactically and his interactions with his squads were very good over the years. He built some good squad and he has the combination of some of the italian mentality and the attacking style he gained from the epl and liga.

I hope he gives the youngsters a chance. He just needs to get that winning mentality instilled in the team.

All the luck to Claudio

We r saying Ranieri isnt appealing to players in transfers like a coach like Capello but I cannot honestly think of a coach of that stature that would have been willing to take Juve now. Lippi would've been gr8 but he's got a situation

We just have to look at the options we had....aint no way you can expect the big signings from someone like Vialli, Guidolin or Novellino. I just cant see players being attracted because of them. My main worry though is the board situation. Those guys r trully amateaurs and I wonder if Ranieri will just roll over to their shit.

There r 2 ways of looking at his stance with the board i.m.o. He managed to negotiate a 3 year deal when they wanted 2 give him a 2yr one. He also got the staff he wanted so mayb that coould mean he wont roll over - possibly explaining y Secco was lookin all shit. But they could also b givin him what he wants because they know they can puppet him l8er..........
