If only CR was the lone source of our problems... :frown:
He may not be the lone source but at the moment he is a big part of it. The team is in total chaos right now and the players dont respect him at all. At least with a new coach players like Buffon, Camo, Del Piero and Trez will be happier and more motivated.

Plus if say Ferrara or COnte were coach they not only get along with the players and be respected by them but put more faith in players like Criscito and Giovinco. Ranieri is too afraid to try things or put faith in younger players even if their quality is understood

We need some better, Ferrara or Conte are so inexperienced, they might commit some elementary mistakes and even if they fix Camo's attitude, they might actually have even worse results and lesser efficiency!

The most important thing, our main priority should have been to provide the coach with the proper "tools"/players to do better.
Either be CR, Conte, Ferrara or a real coach! We are now playing with a handicap!

I'll open-armed live with his mediocre and selfish performances as long as he's being our best player of the season.
there are always two sides to this ... on form perhaps alex does curl the ball into the net 8 of 10 times he tries that, but when he is not in the right form he will still try it and waste the ball 10 times instead of giving it to a team mate who might have a better position to shoot.

when things go right he can do magic, but when they don't there is no switch for alex to be a more of a teamplayer... since we "enjoy" a period of bad form it would help the team more, when alex would help the others more instead of being to selfish ... the opponent does expect alex to dribble or to shoot anyways, so why not try something new like passing the ball?

you are right ... if we keep complaining about our coach lacking the tactical depth to turn around things, we can not elevate conte or ferrara as the saviours, because they might have even less knowledge about football tactics and will even more likely fail against better tacticans

We should talk with Van Gaal, now. He's been approached by Bayern and is in talks with the Belgian FA (combining belgian NT and his job at AZ). He's one of the few world class coaches who would be available for next season.

correction he is till under contract with AZ
I don't see him coming here, he has a problem with the media and with star players excellent with youngsters tough
would be risky to hire him

----------------------------------
For next season, we'd like Spalletti more than Prandelli, but some in the board want Gasperini. Conte, Giampaolo and Ballardini are outsiders.
There already was a meeting with Spalletti, but the negotiations were informal and no deal was made yet. The negatives from this are that Saplletti is getting 2m eur per season and he has 6 more men in his staff who will require ~1m eur total, which means 3m eur net a season for all of them. (which means around 6m taxes included. around 4m more per season than what we were paying for Ranieri)
As for Prandelli, he has no intentions to leave Fiorentina for now.

I could see the one of Prandelli or Gasperini who misses out on the CL join us.

Spalletti wouldn't be my first choice but as Dominic said yesterday, at least he has a football philosophy and a game plan.

Let's get Spaletti and miss out on a key player :snoop:

Why does he need 6 men with him?
His assistant, maybe a goalkeepers coach....who else?
He obviously doesn't have a guy responsible for the defenders, but if he has he better gets rid of him before he joins Juve.

hm, getting the same or even worse coach than CR and to pay on top of that much more, no thank you.

I would rather spend extra 4mil on a player
