Im not sure Bojan and Dos santas are the best examples. Bojan is 18 and still a brilliant player. However Guardiola, has preferences and has only played him a few games this season.. not sure if that says his ability has detoriated or the fact that Guardiola has other star studded players who he prefers to choose and finish off the game. Had Rikaard still been there im sure Bojan would still be a household name.

As for Dos Santos, well I think this kid can still rise, his just in the wrong league, dont think he had enough space to break through barca again. All in all he made a bad decision in his life not sure of going to ipswich will be any good for him. Is giovinco making the right decision to stay? Thats obviously dependent on how much playing time he will get. Im glad his getting 'regular' starts now even though it may have been at the expense of nedved's injury.

Unless they think that Cassano can do better...:shifty:
Nah, they don't have the guts to sell the fans' favorite, even if they think that they'll be doing the right job with that. Moggi was selling Baggio and Zidane, but he was a strong figure that had trophies behind him.
Our directors work hard to create and keep the image of the new, likeable Juve, not only by the Juve fans, but even by the others, and they will never do something that will surely anger the fans.

Secco, although ignorant, is arrogant enough to try it, esp if the Elkann order him and CR approves it. It is no secret that they admire Cassano and CR doesnt seem over-thrilled with Giovinco either...

The fans intervention saved Marchisio, Giovinco and DC once already,
but would they be able to repeat that forever?
Marchisio has given enough chances to prove himself and he has won a place in our team. Giovinco is a fan favorite, he is our most promising player and he can deliver spectacle. DC is not allowed to compete with our boards favorite son.
I agree that our board wouldnt want to seem as betrayers to our dreams/hopes and axe him. But they can put him on ice (bench) and use Cassano instead,
if Cassano comes and start using his flicks while Giovinco is still wasted on bench, the stage is set for the final finishing blow by the x-mas.
Someone like Wenger would be delighted to bring him anytime...
If they really want to impose Cassano, they can!

True, but there are no gurantees that Gio would stay with us if he's been left on the bench for the majority of games. You're right the management won't sell him but he'll probably ask to leave....

I'm not justifying what has trezi has done, as that was clearly a mistake. Had Ranieri fined him and dropped I wouldn't have a single issue with it. But the way they handled it in the press is disappointing to say the least.

A cynical man would suggest that they responded in that fashion because they want to ease his transfer out of the club.
I have been defending Ranieri for his actions in the press rooms all the time, hell I was even praising, but his words against Trezeguet is exactly how you described it, unbelievably dumb..

The sad thing is that Ranieri's obviously right, but still didn't handle the situation well. He, being the coach and all, should have kept it in the lockerroom, even if Trez had already spoken to the press. Responding via the media is understandable and even seems rational, but does not help the team.

I think a smaller squad, with more quality and a larger role to our youngsters would offer more or less the same results, without a great loss to the practical overall quality but maybe an advanced help from the quality to the games we have suffered from lack of quality. And most important, a much more easier and effective work, for the building up of our future, competitive Juve.

Tiago, Almiron, Poulsen, Andrade etc already proved that they were not essential to our cause. History has already proven that!
And chances are, that they are not going to be essential to our cause, in the future either...
We could have trusted our youngsters more and maybe bring some of them earlier.
The first year, like I said was a disaster.
They failed to see the seriousness of Andrade's injury, when fully fit, I'm quite certain to tell you that he is better than Legrotaglie and Melberg, so quality wise he was sufficient, but our Physios are fvcked up, as we have seen.

Almiron was a flop, yes indeed.

You make it seem like our youngsters are guaranteed to be able to handle the rotational/bench role. I beg to differ.
Marchisio and Gio had serie A experience via empoli, and we are lucky both are stepping up to the plate.

Tiago and Poulsen's contribution this season is more than you think though. Although both have not shown their real potential, they have also had very good games for us, not spectacular, but solid enough.

PS If Poulsen was a strategical choice as a sub for a future competitive team, then why didnt we offload Tiago already,we keep Zanetti and we got Marchisio for? The Marchisio was brought in for that particular role. We should first decide if he is good enough to be a starter and then decide if we need a starter or a sub like Poulsen when Zanetti or Tiago leaves us.
In the mean time, when we buy subs that might be useful for the future, we lack starters today in our defense. When are we going to start enhancing our defense?? With the money we used to get Poulsen, we could get a starter full back!
We did try to sell Tiago!
Or don't you remember a few months ago? It was Tiago who didn't want to go.

This was what I thought of the scenario. We will sell Tiago, to raise funds needed for Xabi Alonso (an upgrade for sure).

Because we were going for alonso, we were content to include nocerino (a bench role player) in the Amauri deal.

We couldn't sell Tiago, and Secco was too stupid to negotiate better for Xabi Alonso, hence decision was taken to get Paulsen, who is still better than Nocerino anyways to complete the squad depth.
