Claudio Ranieri has taken over as coach of Juventus.

The former Chelsea boss has signed a three-year deal with the Italian giants.

Last week Ranieri quit Serie A club Palma sparking speculation he was set to take over as Stuart Pearce's successor at Manchester City.

But 'The Tinkerman' has instead stepped into the vacancy left by Didier Deschamps at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Ranieri is set to be unveiled to the media at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Juve confirmed that Ranieri was in the frame to step into the Turin hotseat after World Cup winning coach Marcello Lippi said he was not ready to return to football.

Juve confirm Ranieri as Coach

Channel4.com

Claudio Ranieri has signed a deal with Juventus and will be presented as their new Coach tonight.

The Bianconeri needed to replace Didier Deschamps on the bench and the former Parma Coach had become the first name on the club’s list after parting company with the Ducali.

Ranieri succeeded in guiding Parma to safety after being handed the job in January, with the club in a seemingly hopeless position, and seemed set for a move to the Premiership with Manchester City.

But Ranieri has instead finalised an agreement with the Bianconeri this afternoon, which will keep him in Turin until 2010.

Juve President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli confirmed on Sunday that he believed Ranieri was the right man to guide the team in Serie A next season.

“He has the right characteristics both in terms of his career and his age, which cannot help but be of interest for a long-term project like the one in place at Juve,” he told Raisport.

“It is very important that this Coach is appreciated by the major stars in the squad,” added the chief, referring to Gianluigi Buffon’s vote of confidence for Ranieri.

he has my support and my welcome to the day he leaves, but I don't have faith in him, that he will take us to the glorious seasons, specially with this board. maybe he could if we had a better board, but I lost my respect to this board, and will hate them more if they sack him in a short time.
coming from a man that supports every manager juve brought in, this post is special

I had my doubts in the begining but with every day i'm starting to like this guy more and more. I think he has the right spirit to do this task. And nobody can handle the presure as he can. I just hope that our board won't try to manipulate him. And wish that he will rely on our best youngsters like Marchisio, Palladino, Giovinco, Chiellini and Balzaretti in Seria A.
So Welcome, Claudio and good luck!
