This guy was an absolute MONSTER today.

Can't ask much more from a DM. Fast, great defending, great positioning, good covering, good passing and vision.

Honestly if he keeps it up to this standard, I'm not sure if the pros of having Pirlo back would outdo the cons.

Marchisio - Vidal - Pogba is the best midfield in the world IMO if Marchisio consolidates as a WC DM.

Better than Xabi - Schwein - Thiago (they're never healthy anway), Khedira - Kroos - Modric, Busquets - Raktic - Iniesta, Matic - Fabregas - Ramires, Fernando - Fernandinho - Toure or Strootman - De Rossi - Pjanic.

Marchisio - Vidal - Pogba is the best and most balanced mix of skills and athleticism IMO, with guys able to run all pitch making covers while also fundamental to build up play and showing at the box to score.

@DelPiero84

btw i've been saying this since march. Marchisio covering Vidal and Pogba, allowing both to make far more offensive plays

hence, Allegri “Marchisio played a good game and towards the end he did well to block a dangerous cross when Ogbonna had been left behind.”

I remember that very well. Seems like Marchisio's best position should really be in front of defense, as a holder. He's tactically astute player who can cover well and his passing is not bad either. It also forces him to be more involved in the game.
