Marchisio doesn't have Pirlo's passing range, but he doesn't need to, as his presence allows Vidal and Pogba more freedom to go forward. With Pirlo in the side, Vidal and Pogba's attacking tendencies are limited, as they need to cover for Pirlo's defensive deficiencies.

With Marchisio on the pitch, we are more athletic, dynamic, and can afford to play a high tempo.
My respect! I love Pirlo and but Juve without him is much better.

It's the obvious lack of quality and poor generations of players.
Even the poor generations of italians are stil better than New Zealand, Slovakia, Costa Rica, Paraguay and Uruguay, even current england squad is worse, in 1982 everyone thought that italians are finished, you know how that tournament finished, same story with 1994 etc. People always underrate almost every generation of italians

Italy was always underestimated, but they always great some WC players.

Nowadays it's just a mediocre team. Right now squad looks better than 2 years ago, though.

They choked, like we choked in Europe last year.
