i like claudio a lot but he is nothing special, just a slightly bit more consistent than mirko.

i dont understand why marchisio fans try to compare him to vidal whenever he is criticized because that does not help your case. vidal is one of the best mids in the world and clearly mops the floor with marchisio.
It's no shame being inferior to Vidal. Not many players are better, actually.

true, and that's the only thing i'm saying hun. i think vidal is one of the top 3 easily

what i dont understand why is it so difficult to accept that marchisio isnt close to that level (still a very good home grown player with classy taste as his idols are gerrard and del piero)

Maybe that tells you that Conte lets Vidal rest during easy games?

I can't believe people still think Marchisio is on his level.
Games missed this season
Marchisio: Fiorentina (away, draw), Catania (away, win), Bologna (home, win), Shakhtar (home, win), Cagliari (home, win), AC Milan (home, win), Parma (away, draw), Udinese (home, win), Lazio (away, loss), Chievo (away, win), Roma (away, loss), Celtic (home, win)
Vidal: Genoa (away, win), Chievo (home, win), Bologna (home, win), Torino (home, win), Sampdoria (home, draw), Siena (home, win), Catania (home, win)

So without Vidal in the starting line-up our record is 6-1-0, without Marchisio it's 8-2-2. Conte from time to time tends to start semi-hard games without Marchisio and almost always when that happens we fail to win, while we're pretty comfortable without either of them against small teams. Conclusions? I'd say Marchisio is very important and whenever he is missing (or plays awful like against Bayern), it hurts the team badly.

:agree:
The team does it's best when all three of the midfield trio are at least 'good'. If one of them have a bad game we lose a lot of steam, when two of them choose to have a bad game, like vs Bayern, we get fucked.

I tend to agree with that. But that match against Bayern should not be an example as so many things we did went wrong. Or in other words, they played tactically amazing game which demolished our midfield and made our defense fragile. My biggest concert was how they toyed with us in some periods of the match while we were using 3-5-2 with rather defensive wing backs (which I'm not a fan of). As a team MVP does great, but I still believe Marchisio's absence is much easier to cover.

Also, I hate seeing comments 'oh yea, we play against Inter, Milan, Barca etc. watch how Marchisio shows up now'. Key word being now, which later goes into saying how he's a big match player. Does that mean he's not a good player to have against weaker teams as he doesn't explode? Last season what he did at majority of our matches was great. But this season I think he was rather inconsistent, disappears for many matches and then goes wild in the random one which repeats, while on the other hand Vidal and Pirlo carried consistently.
