In term of importance to the team, Vidal >>>>>>> Marchisio.
Difficult, if not impossible to measure.

Claudio had only few games where he shone... The majority of games was a disappointment.
Which games were disappointing?
So far this season, I've got away to Bayern, away to Lazio (Coppa) & away to Milan.
While I've got away to Celtic, home against Atalanta, home against Nordsjawhatever, home against Napoli, home against Torino, home against Shakhtar, home against Roma, away to Chelsea in terms of really good to excellent games.

Last season, he was much better. I also believe that he shines better in 4-3-3
He wasn't, actually. But most people would agree with you, simply because he scored more often.

Vidal is arguably the most important player to the team, so it doesn't say much.
I agree. but the comparison in this thread involved those two players, hence my post.

Difficult, if not impossible to measure.
Why is it difficult? I noticed that the team performance always dropped when we missed Vidal. Of course I'm not implying that his absence was the sole reason to that drop...

I don't remember honestly, it was my general feeling about Claudio's performances this season.

I didn't say that because he scored more goals, but I think he is better suited with 4-3-3

i like claudio a lot but he is nothing special, just a slightly bit more consistent than mirko.

i dont understand why marchisio fans try to compare him to vidal whenever he is criticized because that does not help your case. vidal is one of the best mids in the world and clearly mops the floor with marchisio.
Preet, love, be a darling and not post in this thread

He's the most talented player in this team alongside Mirko.

And both him and Vidal have similar roles on the pitch but no one's better than the other because they complete each other with Pirlo. It's the chemistry.

That's fair enough.

I haven't noticed that, tbh. But I guess it has a lot to do with who replaces him, opponent, etc.

And now for some jolly good fun :D

A quick calculation for our Serie A games teaches me the following:
- With Vidal on the pitch, we average 2,21 points per game. Without Vidal on the pitch, we average 2,5 points per game.
- With Marchisio on the pitch, we average 2,29 points per game. Without him, we average only 2,17 points per game.

Shocking results. It's obviously time for a new fanboy battle :weee:

Maybe that tells you that Conte lets Vidal rest during easy games?

I can't believe people still think Marchisio is on his level.
