Despite the much improved effort of the Dane, our midfield is never going to be as strong as our formation demands, when we are missing both Marchisio and Momo...
What I am wondering is this:
If we are to stick with a 4-2-3-1, which I think can be superb when we have Melo/Momo and Diego/Giovinco/Camo...where does Marchisio fit in?
To me is he an all rounder, capable of box to box tracking back, covering, defending, attacking, shooting...So, he can play in ANY of those positions. I would gladly see him take up one of the Camo or Gio spots, were they injured, rather than Tiago or De Ceglie. Because he is more mobile, more feisty and more confident. The same applies to the absence of Momo or Melo...though I think he is better used, in the 4-2-3-1 system as one of the 2.
I look forward to his return.
And do think he has the potential to mature into one of the finest midfielders in the world game.
