Marchisio was amazing in 2011/12, and then again at Euro 2012 in the summer. His runs were so perfectly timed, his passes great. He was better than Vidal that season. It wasn't until Vidal exploded the next season, Marchisio got injured and had a poor run of form, and Pogba took his spot, that he started to disappear as a Box to box mid.

And now look at him. He's a borderline world class regista.

And it doesn't deny anything that I've been saying for years, he never had an impact bar that one season. He's good know and he should keep player, but you should also realize it's his new position, it's not like I missed his wonderful play earlier. He was given a new role just recently. And you know what, he was probably given a new role because he didn't shine in the old one. Or old ones 'cause he had quite a few positions.

Now? I'm super excited when I see Vidal - Marchisio - Pogba in the middle. Would I like both Pirlo and Marchisio in the middle, or Marchisio as a MC or something? No. He should be our DM and it just suits him the best, he can shine there, unlike other positions.
