We had a similar situation two years ago, when we played the last round in Donezk. Shakhtar secured qualification and needed a draw to win the group. We risked elimination with a defeat, but a draw would have seen us qualify. Whole England was talking about Juve and Shakhtar fixing the match, since a draw was gold worthy to both. Yet we ended up winning, and from likely elimination, we actually won the group.

I agree, except that this match is different from the ones you mentioned, because this time our opponents also need a draw. Galatasaray and Bayern needed a win when they faced us.

We'll still be getting a lot more money. And then even from there, it depends on who we're drawn against. We could beat any team in Groups C or H, for example.

Ye i suppose the money is a good thing if we do make it out but i hate being happy to just reach the last 16, I want to be able to at least challenge a big team and show them we are good enough to hold our own against anyone.

Thing is though we all know if we get any big team we will get knocked out as we just dont have the attacking game to really beat the other teams.

Good performance, especially in the second half. However, our finishing is really terrible. I don't know if there is another top team in Europe with such a bad finishing. In big matches, this will hurt us. We should urgently work on it.

Dont understand how Marchisio can lead MOM table by hitting 20 decent chances straight at the keeper. I love Marchisio but come on. That ball for Llorente's goal was perfectly executed and looked amazing on first viewing but he had so much space to use it.
