prediction, we will loose 3:0 on aggregate, henry scoring at delle empty one more goal.

maby if we are lucky, we score one goal also, and loose 3:1.
I have held on to the exact same prediction. Juve goes scoreless in the first half in another lackluster match and Arsenal digs in like Liverpool. Our offense is futile, and by the second half some of our desperation leads to an Arsenal counterattack goal. 1-0 Arsenal the final.

I don't know why, but I think we have a shot.

We make it past Arsenal, we win it all.

I still say CL has become a "luck series", and a series that rewards non-top tier teams.

I still say that only the top 2 teams from each country should be involved.

This much I will completely agree with on both counts.

Arsenal duo in doubt for Juve trip
Sunday, 2 April 2006

Arsenal FC midfielder Cesc Fabregas and full-back Emmanuel Eboué are doubtful for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Juventus in Turin after coming off injured in Saturday's 5-0 victory against Aston Villa FC.

'Negative side'
"The negative side of the game today is that we got two injuries that we wouldn't want to have at the moment," said Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. "First is Eboué with a groin problem. The second is Fabregas with a foot problem. Both are 40-60 for Wednesday night." Fabregas only lasted 16 minutes before being replaced by Abou Diaby, who went on to score his first goal for the club, while Ivory Coast defender Eboué was substituted after 67 minutes.

'Blown up'
Speaking about Fabregas, Wenger said: "His foot has blown up. That's not a good sign. It can be a vein that has exploded or it's coming from a bone we don't know. Eboué did his groin because he played like [former Brazil great] Garrincha on the right side and didn't stop going forward." Arsenal hold a 2-0 lead over Italian champions Juventus as they bid to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time where they would face either FC Internazionale Milano or Villarreal CF.

I firmly believe that any chance Juve has of actually going through against Arsenal is in the hands of Del Piero. If he cannot play, we're done for. But if we can get his leadership on the pitch, we have a shot.

Forza Alex!

Arsenal played much better after diaby came on yesterday.
we were a bit sloppy to begin with.

Diaby doesn't have Fabregas's vision and range of passing but he is physically stronger in a challenge and has a knack of stretching out a very long leg and winning the ball in what looks to be an impossible 40 - 60 situation.

He gets into good attacking positions around the edge of the penalty area and can also somewhat surprisingly - because he looks uncoordinated & gangly, accelerate and run through two or three strong challenges with excellent control.

Wenger on diaby

On the minus side he's not had much playing time since arriving in january and thus can be a bit erratic and not as consistent and slick as fabregas at creating and coordinating the play.

juve scouts will have seen us mainly playing
4-4-2 with adebayor partnering henry in the premiership as we did yesterday [adebayor was cup-tied with monaco]

Arsenal have only adopted 4-5-1 this season and have used it extensively in the CL.

It used to be "arsene 4-4-2 wenger" with no plan "B" for when that wasn't paying off.
