I just checked on soccernet and saw that Marchionni is 25. That's a bit of a bummer IMO. We need lightning in that midfield. Emo and Vieira are good players but simply cancel each other to make us slow in the middle.I feel Emo has more passion in him so Paddy should bench, but that's just my opinion.

It's funny how games like Tuesday r able 2 reveal the truth people have been denying ( including me),about our team and it's prolific weakness(es). We r a light case of Real Madrid that needs midfield rebuilding.

I admire your optimism BUT the thing about 03 is that Trezz scored in Madrid, that made all the difference. Had it not been for that, 3-1 would'nt have been enough just like it is now. What I'm sayin is, even if we hypothetically manage to score 3, Ars will definately score in Turin - it's almost a given. They play THE best counter attacking football and this time our slow ass midfield with 30 something Gianni replacing Vieira will have to go 4 it and we all know what that means....Titi

i know, getting the away goal would have been good.

but its not a DEFINITE that arsenal are going to score. we can break their morale with an early goal. i think it would help if capello went for a 4-3-1-2 or a 4-3-3, and that is possible regardless of what peolpe say about capello. HE KNOWS we have to score 2 goals.

Yeah, but then again:

If we win the return leg 3-1 and crash out, at least we can be proud of our players, who gave it their all!

I agree to us likely being out of the competition, but it wouldn't hurt to get behind the team, as is our only duty as fans.
We're the 12th man on the field for Juventus, and we need to "play well" just like any black and white striped player that day.

My strategy for the return leg, Yeah I know, Capello won't play this.

Nice tactics, but I think we are kind of asking a lot out of mutu, he certainly aint the type of player who can tackle the defensive midfielders, he was outshurugged by eboue as for outshrugging the likes of gilberto may just seem even more difficult for him. I think nedved should go in the middle atleast he seems more determined and can maybe win us some freekicks. Maybe putting zlatan in mutus position and zalayeta in zlatans may just help. The reason is because zlatan is tall enough to knock it down to nedved or trezegol. Arsenal have always had that physical presence at the back and hopefully zalayeta can provide some muscle in the tussle. Or rather I hope so. And I totally agree with having chielini and zambo on the wings that should help an awful lot. Also how about playing that formation midway through the match ( once we have clawed one goal back). Th estarting formation in my eyes should be something like a 3-5-2. If we can control the midfield then we certainly got them on their backfoot.
