I see your point, only that, when has he ever played as a dedicated LB? and I don't mean his usual LM/LWB position.

Against Madrid last week he played LB positon, few times in Serie A, vs Torino last year in the 2nd half of the game and there are couple of other examples. I agree he's not played enough games, but this game is where it all comes to. I can definitely see Conte fielding him there if things don't go according to plan.
