The playstyle shifts, and I would agreed with you if we had better alternative, but the good outweights the bad in this case because there is a huge difference in quality between Pirlo and Sturaro, the latter has barely shown he is better then Padoin even. A limited random fill in fringe player is not as useful as Pirlo, despite the risks and shift in style it comes with. Pure quality matters first and foremost, Sturaro will do what he has done so far, chase around the ball acomplishing nothing, Pirlo may slow down our play, but also seamlessly spread possession or make direct penetrating passes to our forward runs (besides the obvious set piece threat). Besides hustle and bustle, what would Sturaro bring us?
