We did exactly the same thing with Hugain without improving the midfield first
On the other hand, they did the right thing when they bought Gonzalo.

Pogba was already set to leave the club, it was only the matter of how much money the club would get from this transfer. At the same time, it was a year when Napoli came dangerously close to winning scudetto. Having bought Higuain, especially having bought him the way it was done, Juventus completely demoralized them. They still cannot recover after that situation, especially in terms of mentality. And, by the way, when he was bought, it wasn't Higuain we all know today - it was a ruthless goal scoring machine that just broke the all-time Italian record.

So, if back then the management already decided that their main objective was 10 scudetto in a row, they made the most effective move to simplify achievement of this goal.

The team that beat A. Madrid had a number of great performances while yesterday it was only the keeper. Pjanic disappears as does Berna so it's up to Can to link midfield to strikers. As those two couldn't even hold the ball we had to cover them a lot so the attack disappeared. Ramsey will take Pjanic's place next year and we need a true Pirlo replacement not this ghost.

It still hurts, but it was so deserved.

Never one for the Coppa to mean anything, I sensed doom in how we capitulated to Atalanta. And then to SPAL of all teams. And a lack of convincingly beating anybody this season.

Ah, same time next year.

Looking back at it.

Allegri; MdS, Rugani, Bonucci, Matuidi, Can, Berna, Bentancur.

This group was never going to achieve shit in this competition. Not even Ronaldo could drag them through alone.

Worse teams have won the CL, following the plan and a never say die attitude like what Man City and Spurs showed last night can take you far and then, that little extra quality from Ronaldo is what brings the cup home.

Fucking hell, just rewatched the first half of juve - ajax, besides that fluke goal they were so shit
we were much more dominant, just lacked few more direct shots on target

Got to wonder what went so wrong in the 2nd half

I don't agree, after the first half it was obvious that Ajax are going to dominate the second. After the goal for 1-1 Ajax took control over the game and we didn't do anything upfront and gradually our game deteriorated. Only a player like Costa and having Chiellini could have given us a chance, but ...

Physical condition. We are simply without fitness. We have enough strength to play one half at the maximum power.
It is evident that preparation for the season and training microcycles failed and Allegri must change something in his coaching staff and preparing a new plan for the next season.
I love Allegri, hes one of the best managers in Europe, but...I dont know, maybe this team, Juventus needs freshness and a new breath.
