If EPL fanboys and pundits keep claiming the EPL is more important than CL and EL so they don't care about it why not just drop out of those competitions all together? I am tired of hearing the "EPL games take too much out of us" excuse every year. EPL now is nowhere deep and competitive as Serie A was in the 90s and Italian clubs still dominated Europe.

The feeling after this Man City win is so great when you take into consideration the smug disregard EPL fans give to non-English clubs not named Bayern, Barca, or Real.

They truly thought it was going to be so easy, especially looking at our current form and their current form. Most Juve fans felt the same too.

But the vindication after this win was so spectacular because it was so hard to fit the results into the tiny worldview of an EPL fanboy who regards Italy as a feeder league, some English media sources going so far as to refer to Juventus as a selling club.

So much glory.

People wouldn't have complained one bit if we received that €28m now but we aren't.It's €5m this yr and €3m the next.Bulk of the fee will be received in 2017 where €28m would be the new €10m.
If people actually looked at the bigger picture taking inflation into account, they'll see this as a really poor deal.We are basically banking on Coman turning into a giant flop to justify this poorly made deal.

Wenger sets UCL record in 2-1 Dinamo Zagreb loss, but for all the wrong reasons

The French manager won’t be too happy to see this stat after his team lost their opening game on Wednesday.
It appears starting the new campaign with a defeat has become somewhat of a custom at Arsenal.

The north London side, who kicked of their 2015-16 English Premier League campaign with a 2-0 home loss to West Ham, embarked on life in the new Champions League season in similar fashion, losing 2-1.

The Gunners traveled to Croatia to lock horns with Dinamo Zagreb, with hopes of a victory in their opening game high. However, a 24th minute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal left Wenger’s crew trailing, before a 40th minute red card for Olivier Giroud sent everything into a downhill spiral for the FA Cup holders.

Sanchez and Co. threw everything at their opponents in search of an equalizer before conceding a second after the break. The away side did, however, manage a consolidation goal courtesy of English forward Theo Walcott.

The defeat was nothing short of embarrassing for the English giants and their long-serving French manager, especially since it saw Le Prof set a Champions League record, for all the wrong reasons though.

Le Prof, in his 18 consecutive seasons in European football’s premium tournament, has amassed 50 defeats, the most by any manager in the tournament's history.

In addition to that, the loss to the Modri handed the Croatian club their first Champions League victory since September 1999.

Things will not inflate that much. It also means that we may still get a player we can sell for a bit if he comes back. It's not a bad deal money wise at all.

It absolutely will.

Martial being bought for €80m(which includes bonuses ofcourse) is a little teaser of what's to come in the future.

Stupid money is going to be thrown around everywhere.

And if he comes back to us as a giant flop , it means we'll most likely loan him out again.
That is why I find comments like 'we're €8m rich ' extremely cringeworthy because it would mean very little in the grand scheme of things.

Yep. 8m richer and a youngster with 2 years experience under his belt at another "tier 1" club and ample opportunities. Lastly, he came for free so if he comes back at 22 years old and no better we can make a great profit from him.

Yeah.

Regarded logic isn't it?
Tbh if Bayern don't take the option (which I'm almost certain won't happen, with the deal most likely being done the way it is for accounting purposes), it would've been quite a bad deal, as that would mean that Coman pretty much flopped there, and we'd get a subpar player back.

Biggest reason why I always hated the English league is that shiit ignorant (how dare we lose, we should simply beat everyone atitude) they always had.

Seriously these guys never learn, If it not for the foreign (owners/players/managers) that league would be a nothing.

Stopped watching that league for the past 7-8 years cause I just can't stand that atitude and disrespect they have to every other league (with the exception perhaps to Madrid and Barca)

Don't think inflation will happen that fast.

It's more like, those 28 million will be the new 20 million or something.

Who else has even been around as long as Wenger to amass so many games?

Obviously Arsenal's European record is crap, either way you look at it. It's about going far in the competition, and they do it rarely.
