AS Roma is one of those clubs that should just call it quits and disband. They are completely worthless as a club, per semipro.

People don't need to "go against" Italian teams in CL or EL, they will do it themselves.

VFL Wolfsburg seems to have some talent and a bit of money also. The German economic model seems to work better also, and the stadiums for most sides being full each game. It seems they have invested very heavily in youth football as well in Germany, which is something we see Juventus starting to do, but severely lacking still in Italian football as a whole.

There's much more of a go for it mentality from German teams also, which is a risk-reward gamble, but seems to be paying off for them lately, whereas Italian football seems to remain stuck in this very cautious, play it safe mentality, that just doesn't see to work in modern football.

You know the irony of Serie A, is that it's fall bares a lot of resemblelance with the fall of the Roman Empire; economy, morale decline, corruption, no longer innovating.

Thing is the Germans despite lacking the quality of the Spanish and the EPL, still have some say influence in Europe were as Serie a teams are utter garbage.

Financial implications... It appears we have already surpassed last season's total European revenue. :tuttosport:

22.45 the top European competition will have only one team to represent us: Juventus. Elimination bitter for Roma who still have a little treasure lasciatole inherited from participating in the Champions League.
If for Juventus in the passage to the knockout solitary mean 2.8 million more from the market pool, for Roma take a lower but still substantial.
CALCULATION – The share market pool that the two Italian will share amounted to 80 million euro. The first half is divided according to the championship the previous year: 55% for the first place, 45% for the second that are translated into EUR 22 million for Juventus and 18 million for the Roma.
From the second half of the market pool (ratio of the number of games played on the total of those played by teams of each federation) 22.8 million for Juventus and 17.2 million for the Roma (8 matches out of 14 overall, including those of eighths, for Juve and 6 out of 14 for the Rome).
In addition, access to the group stage and the passage to the knockout stage guaranteed to Juventus a bonus total of 12.1 million euro (8.6 for access to the group stage and 3.5 for the passage to the knockout) and 8.6 million for the Roma which will add up the awards related to the results of the matches of the group stage (€ 3.5 million for Juventus, € 2 million for the Roma) and cash from the box office (we estimate 8 million for both including the home game of the second round for Juve).
No prizes for racing game knockout, this prerogative only of the games played in the group stage.
The journey thus far by the two teams earned: 68.4 million for Juventus (60.4 excluding the receipts) and 53.8 for Roma (45.8 excluding the receipts).
POSSIBLE SCENARIOS – The share of the market pool will depend on the path of Roma Juventus in the Champions League. In fact, in case of failure to qualify for the quarter-finals of Juve, its share will remain unchanged compared to the one described above (€ 35.2 million).
In contrast, while in case of access to the quarter would see Juventus increase its share of the market pool to reach the sum of € 47 million, the Roma would see reduced its € 33 million, but with the possibility of increasing its revenues through its journey in the Europa League.
The qualification for Juventus is a big financial success as well as sports. With the passage to the knockout stage, Juve has already exceeded € 62.7 million of revenues (market pool, bonuses, awards and box office receipts) recorded last season playing the two UEFA competitions (Champions and Europa League).

Ummm... Moving higher up the Club rankings. Making more money... Better recognition for the club for playing a top team further along in the CL. Viewership probably spikes dramatically from knockout round to knockout round. If we get to play Bayern, or Barca or RM or Chelsea in the QFs instead of the Rof16, we likely profit by it, and if we put in a good showing, even in a loss, that helps our image and mentality.

Non-sense, you will be in the spotlight, you will be on the 1st page of every single football magazine if you will beat Bayern, Barcelona etc. in the 1/16

Jesus christ, they call themselves "juventini" but they fucking scared to meet the good team in 1/8 of the CL  in fact you're just afraid that Juventus could go home so "early" and come up with excuses like money, fame blablabla
