respect in the sense they actually care about their club enough to pay over the top in the hope that money will turn into proper investments in turn success on the pitch
Well they've been doing it for a while now, haven't they?

Kroenke and his gang have made it clear that all they care about, is running this club like a business. Trophies are not their concern at all. Perhaps if we don't secure a CL spot, and the fans boycott the club until investments are made, then Kroenke will either cave in, or fuck off. Preferably the latter.

Your fans will never boycott your games. Have you seen your waiting list for season tickets at the emirates? Plastic fans crawl out from everywhere. That's why my gooner friend loves the way Italians boycott games when they're upset at how the club is being run.

That is very unfortunate and only indicates that this will probably continue for some time. I like the fact that English fans are loyal to their clubs, but sometimes it becomes stupid, and in this case, i'd have loved if our fans acted like their Italian counterparts.

Byrone made the comment earlier that Juventus went through a relegation, and still managed to rebuild their team. Like i said to him, a huge part of the reason is the mentality of the fans, Juventus fans would never have settled for the approach our board is taking, never.

What staggers me was what I was listening to on the radio on my drive home one evening regarding raising season ticket prices to increase transfer funds at the emirates. Considering Arsenal at the time hardly spent a thing and had only just sold Cesc Fabregas. One caller phoned in to to JUST say "are they having a laugh" then hung up!!
My friend hopes that his beloved gunners doesn't qualify for next season CL to hopefully open the eyes of their owners. Think that'll fall on deaf ears. Especially with Wenger still in charge. That's the only reason he's managed to stay in charge this long I'm sorry to say.

because 'winning' is instilled since the 20s. Arsenal's motto however is 'jogo bonito' or some shit.

Our record in finals is pathetic. We lost a UEFA cup final to Parma as well.

7 CL final appearances: 5 losses, and 2 wins :sergio: Oh, and one of those wins was courtesy of a penalty, with the other being on penalties :sigh:
Why are you telling me records I am well aware of, I witnessed, suffered and worked so hard to forget?
