One last question.

If some tabloids were found through research to have a big effect on public perception as big or greater than the TV channels or whatever, is it still a waste of time to try to influence them? If yes then we continue to disagree. If not then we do agree and we were just disagreeing on whether Goal in specific has an effect on public opinion or not.
It's not that. Though it's even debatable WHO goal.com really influences. The thing is, you can't influence the tabloid. That's not how they are run. Messi vs Ronaldo bullshit is their bread and butter. Now if you want to convince those dickheads that "defense first" strategy is a good strategy, then good luck. Unless you pay them directly there's no way they prefer that to a page long praise of Real Madrid's 7 goal win over a poor La Liga team

Still burning over this game.

We had so many chances to comfortably make it 3-0 but our players simply lacked the mental strength.

The way we copped that Muller goal... Vidal wins the ball cheaply, passes to Coman, Coman crosses for the goal.

Let it burn!

How expensive was he? 40 mils?..dybala figure right? Or a zaza + morata
And Pogba cost us 0mln, does it make him an amateur player?

edit: I see now that this is not your point.

But still they have a higher turnover and can pay better wages, but that's not the reason we lost to them otherwise we would sound like Roma/Napoli fans.

I am having a hard time dealing with this defeat. Yesterday I spent 2 hours watching highlights of the game on youtube. I still cant believe how Neuer kept out cuadrado´s shot and I was almost crying in anger at seeing how Evra didnt clear the ball with 2 minutes left on the clock.

I really believed that Juve was lifting the trophy this year after 20 years of disappointments I dont think i can take it anymore. We could have easily won 4 Cl from 96 to this date. We had WC players and WC coach yet somehow managed to lose against fucking dortmund, our bitch RM and throw away a 2 goal lead against MU in the semifinals. 2003 heartbreaking yellow for pavel and capello´s retarded tactics.

That crushing feeling i had wednesday when I checked my phone to see the game had to gone to extra time with bayern winning 3-2 is gonna stay with me for a long time.

You know what I just realized. We will bring home that bucket, the big-ears, at some point. It may be 20 years from now, it may be 3. It may be 30. But we will :)

I just hope Im alive to see it lol

Sure the Bayerns and the Madrids and the Barcelonas will probably have 20 by then. But when the day comes when we get our 3rd. It will be "Leicester" feeling for us in Europe, and everyone will know that it is special. Cause we don't have it on lock every season, it's special. We will never be the club with the most Euro titles, but who cares. When it does happen, it will be fucking glorious. All I ask is to see it one more time before I die

I'm surprised so many of you are still upset. I was upset that night but after waking up the next day I was good. The problem is having too big expectations I guess. Anyone who actually expected us to win it this year has to live in some different reality. Last season we were stronger and we didn't win it. After so much shuffling with the squad we were never going to win this thing. The worst part about last Summer is that our midfield dropped in quality so much it's not even funny. Sure thing is Pirlo was done, but he still was perfect to have last season because Max could rotate him and Marchisio a lot or even play both. Pirlo in a wheelchair still gave us much more than Hernanes could ever hope for. If he sucked he at least was a decoy, because many coaches choose to man mark him which gave much more room to Pogba/Vidal/Pereyra. Vidal wasn't himself last season (abysmal ) but he's still so much better than all of those who came last Summer. Unlike many here I'm not hating on the guy because the level he played for us makes him one of the best players I've seen in Juve's shirt.

So yeah, the drop in quality was already an indication that we wouldn't go as far as last season. Sure, we're cruising through Serie A but after 4 years of consecutive scudetti people should have known it doesn't mean jack shit when it comes to CL. This year we don't play good football at all, it's almost as rigid as it was under Conte. I know it's better to win it in a rigid way than play beautiful football and lose but in CL you aren't getting a result at Allianz if you hoof the ball for an hour, even if you're 2-0 up. I was afraid of us dropping deep at some point and starting to play 'the pussy football' meaning let's kick it away and then we'll worry what to do next. Once they scored I expected the team to collapse because at that moment they weren't going to play it properly anyway, Bayern gained too much momentum, we couldn't bounce back at any point. At the end of the day we have a lot of positives to take out of the tie. For me this team we concluded was never complete so I'd say we really punched above anyone's expectations (mine too tbh).

We have to keep as many players as possible and get a few new ones who will make us complete. If we pull it off, we're a contender for the big ears, but this competition can never be taken for granted. It's too dangerous to become obsessed with CL, just ask milan and merda fans.

For me it seems like the order of importance at Juve goes like this.

1) Grinta
2) Tactical intelligence
3) Technical ability

And im fine with that. Mentality first.
well unfotunatelly in this age the top tier winners are usually those who have more flair and fancy... let's count from the 2000, how many defensive oriented teams win top competitions vs the flair and fancy teams?

I'm not in the habit of judging or measuring myself based on what other people are doing.

At Juventus we look for our starters to have a high level in all three of those attributes and our bench options should have good amounts of the first two.
