Even if Barza return..he will be totally out of rhytm. He needs a couple weeks to get match fitness and it would be suicidal to send him out there... and with a 4 defense line which we have not tried before. IMO is like 99% impossible that allegri tweaks the team so much, and for now ill agree with it.

We have to stick to our guns in ogbonna, bon, chiello,, and hope for the best really. If allegri does anything different form that and gets raped... he will have no excusea and the media will eat him alive.

I agree, no way the lineup changes right now. They can tinker with it next week or something. I doubt Pirlo starts either.

one question I do have is about Caceres. Is he back yet? If so, he should start.

I might get a lot of hate on this, but I prefer Ogbonna to Chiellini in this game. Ogbonna has a very similar skillset to Chiellini but is more disciplined and faster. Those are traits you want against ATM

I think t all depends how Allegri guesses Atletico´s approach. I personally dont know how atletico plays.. but from what I can tell.. they seem to take a counter attacking approach in CL.

If they are eager to go out and score against us given their previous result... it would be interesting to use morata and giovinco in counters...given that both of them specially Gio, got experience with counterattacking tactics.

But since we are the champions of Italy and going on a unbeaten run in the league and CL, im pretty sure that Atletico will use the same gameplan they used against Madrid in the final. They will soak pressure and counter us hardcore. I think theres no way they will try an uber offensive approach with us having players like Tevez, Vidal and Pogba.

Spain is a country which prides themselves for being the motherland of the Spanish language. They often feel that their language is a world wonder, and dont bother learning other languages most of the time....specially english.

Most things that go inside of Spain get insta-translated to their mother tongue.

Most spaniards dont know a thing about english, and dont bother learning it. Its almost like an inferior and uninportant thing to them.
This is so true. My wife is Spanish and every-time we go back to see her family in Spain, not a single family member or friend can speak English or is remotely interested in learning it.

I guess we all know how it goes in Europe, it'll be frustrating as we suck in the first half and possibly the second as well.

With some luck we manage to make little to no mistakes and hold on to a 1-0 victory or a draw.

Loosen up toots and let your hair down

We have incredible genius driving this team's play. There is literally nothing to worry about.

We had 5 games in Serie A to experiment with formation, now we should go with 3-5-2, even though we kind of know that outcome of 3-5-2 in Europe.
God help us.

p.s.
I hope Russ doesn't see the God part.

Last year Atleti was clearly in the top 5 in Europe. They were seconds away from La Liga and the CL.

They already beat Real Madrid in the Super Cup this year and are 2nd in La Liga still.

They lost to Olympiakos, yes, but we don't know if that was just a blip on the radar or the start of something more serious. For me, they haven't faltered enough yet to show they are out of the top 5.

Only one of those teams made the final last year and none of them won La Liga.
While you were living under that rock, Athletico lost its best two players, wich is making a huge difference

Yes but we arent talking about last season, we talk about now, and right now, athletico is very far from what they were last year.

But what makes you say that though. The season just started. Their only loss is Olympiakos.

You can't just look at the team sheet and assume now they are shit. They lost 3 players but brought in about 5 new ones. Right now Atleti is the holy grail of "defensive organization". I thought you would be fapping to them every night.

Defence includes goalkeeper, and actually the workrate of the forward aswel

They are considerably weaker without Diego Costa and Courtois, and i'm not basing that on the Olympiakos game.
