in that case we need a biiig game from Vieira on both fronts. Mutu loses the ball too much and is not of much help defensively.
So my updated line-up would look like this

Buffon
Zebina Thuram Cannavaro Chiellini
Emerson Vieira Zambrotta
Del Piero
Ibrahimovic Trezeguet

Dude, Capello will not play a 3 man midfield even if his wife threatened to cheat on him with Ancelotti. Zambro to me, continues to be of utmost important to the left back role, since we're going to be relying on his speed to get out of situations in and around the box. That said, Camo and Mutu have to be there in addition to Ibra and Trez, since they're default players. Ideally, I'd have liked to see a three man front, with Del Piero and Mutu in tandem with Trez as the go to guy. Since that isnt going to happen, we're going to have to stick with a Camo - Mutu wing attack because, we definitely need their speed and agility in a stadium designed just for that. The fact remains, no matter what formation Capello goes with (4-4-2, who are we kidding?) he's going to have to equip his boys to play the short, tight passing game to beat Arsenal in their own backyard. Long balls to Ibra and Trez I'm afraid will be a little too long at Highbury. So keep it tight, play the wingmen to full effect and attack. Or Henry will be the one getting lucky on the night, in more ways than one.

We will not take the game to them, we'll absorb the pressure and if they dont score in the first 15 minutes we'll impose our tempo. Balzaretti, though quick, doesnt have the XP for a game of this importance. and we will definitely need Zebina for set pieces. Mutu and Camo cannot both be in the line-up imo; Ibra will shine in an open contest english style so he should get the nod.

Buffon
Zebina Cannavaro Thuram Zambrotta
Camoranesi Emerson Vieira Nedved
Ibrahimovic Trezeguet
I agree about Balzi lacking the XP 4 this one but I think Zambrotta should play on the right seeing how Henry likes drifting in from the left ( a bit like Nedved) and I honestly think he's our only defender who can match him close enough 4 pace but with worldclass technique to top up. On the left, I'd put Chiellini coz he's a "tough" kinda guy and can rough up whoever plays down that right side. The only problem 4 me with this is that given Nedved aint there - the left side could be quite toothless in terms of supply since Chiellini aint that much of a bombarding full back like Zambro aint Mutu aint much a winger to begin with. It'll b a makeshift plan that'll have to pull through 4 us till the 2nd leg when Pav is back

I laugh Cap starts Olivera !!!!

Your right about the 3 man midfield thing. Especially without Zambro. BUT one thing I hope we dont do is try and play Arsenal's short pass game - I'm yet 2 see a team dominate them playing like that coz IMO, they're the best team at that style of play (Dont know if I can say Barca and Lyon r also like them). That said, I also hope long balls aint gonna be the way we play but it seems likely given most of our 1st leg encounters.

Last year he did when Nedved was out injured. I think he will do that again, but instead of a 3-man midfield it will be a 5-man midfield as Vinman or Andy have been saying.

Talking about this year Jeekster. I dont remember playing anything but a straight 4-4-2. That's as predictable as Nedved's day at the barber.

I know DJ but one keeps on hoping, I mentioned that because Nedved is suspended for the game.

Again capello is never given enough credit; did you watch the second game against bayern?
Actually let us not give too much credit to Capello there, Bayern seemed not really caring.

we won :) i think they cared... My only worry is to start with both camo and Mutu; that ll make us too imbalanced. Thats why when i found pout that neddy was suspended i knew Vieira would have had to step up big time on the attacking front.

no no, it was all ancelottis fault. Henry was never a winger.. he was a striker beside Trez at Monaco, he played as a striker for france and he came as a striker to juve, in the season, where DP was injuired and we did not score for 5 games in row after he got injuired. In the first months he played as a striker but in the next season´s friendlies Ancelotti had the fantastic idea to use him on the left side in a 3-5-2 formation.. and that was the end of the story..
now cap is doing the same with mutu :(

I cant stop thinking about this game, I really think they will beat us 1- 0 at Highbury and draw 0 - 0 at the Del Api.

look at our last visits to the U.K we lost to Man Utd, Newcastle, Celtic, Arsenal and Liverpool...... This tie as disaster wriiten all over it.

Though we are Juventus and we can grind out the result we need, but they will probaly play the more attractive football.
