The point is that at matches like today's the best coach in the world cannot overcompensate a team that, as Buffon stated, played like it didn't deserve to win.

A coach can do a lot to get his players to bring their game. But once the whistle blows, the players have to deliver for themselves. They are not. Slapping in a new coach on that doesn't solve that.
After all what has happened this season, you say this?

I am sorry, but its laughable. How the heck we keep playing so badly? I know about certain players hiccups like Melo with his passing, but things are going from bad to worse week by week.

So in our case its players fault. What about Pool season then?

You say Ciro cares about team, well yeah he does, he is ex-player after all, but thats were it ends. We are s--king way too long here this season.

I just cant understand how people rather point at players than manager who actually doesnt have any experience of coaching a top team.

By now, there are so many aspects this team isnt performing. Its not even about player level problems, but mind problems. Players were expecting to have a good, in fact winning season. But a lot has happened.

And i know you can say, hey they are professionals, but we have our fair share of emotional players, and considering the way this season has gone, i am not all that surprised of our players displays. Theres hardly anything to play for.

Its funny that when team plays we look at our players rather than coach. Well i tell you what, if Ranieri would be at the helm right now, you would bash him. And no, it doesnt matter that Ciro doesnt have experience, in fact thats why we are in this mess we are right now. And i dont like Ranieri either.

All i want is that the board will finally react and get us a top coach with winning pedigree.

We have Buffon and Chiellini BOTH berating our TEAM as a whole. They just happen to be our best players. And they are hurting because this club is in their hearts, and its dying...Those two have been the ONLY players this season who could potentially hold their heads high and say they did their best. But they wont, because their hearts sink with Juve. Both of them could go to ANY top club in the world...and I doubt Buffon will stay in the summer if we fail to qualify for the champions league, and who would blame him?? He would not be a traitor...As for CHiellini??? One of the most promising up and coming world class centrebacks...he would stay, I reckon, but somewhat begrudgingly, as he should be challenging for the top trophies, not 4th position in Serie A and the Europa league. Same goes for Melo and Diego really. but their form hasn't been as fine as the former two mentioned.

Simply...when two of our most loyal servants, publically slate the team, we all KNOW that something is horribly wrong. And the first thing to change is Ciro. Yes Secco/Blanc are wretched in their current roles. But...the coaching, tactics, motivation, selection COMES FROM CIRO.

we are sinking...still. And I don't believe that we are paupers. Its pride and ego which are keeping this appalling set-up together.

at least we need someone who can SEE what the problem is,
before FIXING it...

Ciro was even blaming about the Chievo's pitch being not up to Seria A's standard.... how pathetic.

and for the absentees, I don't think Poulsen/Amauri can improve our play dramatically. Gio can make a difference, but Ciro won't trust him anyway

My question is why did we bring Iago for?
Same goes to Paolucci ,I mean even Immobile got 10 mins of playing time this season and we brought Paolucci back because we have injured attackers at the moment, what will be in a few weeks when they recover?

I doubt they can even get a place on the bench when all the attackers recovered.
We paid Siena for Paolucci for one game only, the memorable Chievo 1:0 Juve. :sergio:

I actually think the exact opposite. The problem is that he cares too much and his lack of talent hasn't been able to intervene in that.
Actually, either way, it doesn't seem like they have a replacement lined up. So they could be making Ciro stay on, having him take the fall until they sign a new manager.

The folks bashing him for not resigning don't realize that he may have handed in his resignation already. And either way, it's up to the board to make the decision on the manager.

Of course he did not handed notice. Do u think he would keep telling us stories about ships, Rocky and "problem".

Don't be so protective towards him. Be equal in terms of critics whe u compare him as a coach with ruineri

“We have many injuries, but that is not an alibi. There's no point hiding here. We are trying, everyone is giving their all in terms of effort, but the results are pitiful."

That is part of what chiellini said after the game last night. Now our problem was motivation and effort over the past few months but that wasn't the case against Chievo. That team was simply not good enough, they were kicked off the field by Chievo and couldn't compete. We always blamed Ciro about motivation but that wasn't the case as it was confirmed by Chiellini. Dismal performance nonetheless but its just too easy to blame Ciro for everything. Swag talked about the support he may don't have from the management which is important because that enables him to do his job better and it is important.

Overall scheme of things is different, but you have to consider the other factors as well. We bring in a new coach with this crap going with injuries and what not then i don't think we'll have the expected level of change here.

And thats the most important point here. Everyone is talking like Guus is on the wings just ready to come in but Ciro is stopping him because hes not resigning. But from the statements and reports that is very wrong. There is no proper replacement lined up by the management. And for me i don't want us to bring in a coach that will have the same effect Donadoni had on Napoli for example.
Its easy just to say alright we'll bring in someone to get us to the CL places then a better coach in the summer. But reality is different, getting this wrong can have a detrimental effect not only on this season but also the next one.
