I am ecstatic that Ranieri is long gone.

But compare defeating Real Madrid twice and fighting to the end against Chelsea versus not even defeating Bordeaux once with a squad worth millions more? And playing like ass in the process?

It's an embarrassing and shameful comparison.
Different situations, including a healthy Del Pie and in form Amauri.

Till now, I dont see that much difference between our display last year and this year. Im not totally blaming ferrara but he still doesn't have a solid tactical scheme that fits our players.

Maybe if he losses against Bayern, he will resign. If he truly loves the club, he will realize, that he's hurting the club if he stays. A true Juventus legend will resign, in this situation.
By that time, our CL chances would be over....

but, then again, even if we got second in the group, does anyone REALLY expect us to beat first place teams like Manure, Chelsea or even Barca ???

save us the embarassment !!!!

Uefa cup is not as poor as before and we can advance a few rounds over there,
unlike in the CL. We might get more money over there in the end.

In the past we have been disqualified when not deserved to go through,
this time we are not worthy of a spot in the top 16, but i guess its up to Bayern to prove if they are even worse than us or not...

As far Ferrara's successor, stop deluding your selves with decent choices.
Time and time again we had the chance to bring in a decent coach, but our board didnt want that. WHY would they change policy now? Because you asked it?

We are not getting anyone better than Ciro, thats a certainty! They need a young coach that can be manipulated.

Ciro is of course inexperienced, but he learns fast and tries different tactics,
in 2-3 years, he might starting to get a proper clue of the game.

Thats the choice we made when we signed him and now we have to deal with it!!

Champions league prizes is much more that the Europa league. I read somewhere the other day that teams that makes it to the quarter final of the CL makes more than winners of the Europa league.

Nop sorry, Once teams makes it the next round anything is possible from there on. I remember last season people were making jokes about arsenal but i've said they'll go far and they did reach the semi-final. Remember how liverpool struggled in group stages in 2005 and won it at the end. Milan's 2006 performance, they've barely made it against celtic and then what happened?

ANYTHING is possible once you reach the 2nd round

Thats something that i agree with you on, The management made that choice and they better stick with it "atleast" till the end of the season. We don't want to turn to a new real madrid firing coaches in mid-season....

Blanc did poorly in the Champions League last season with Bordeaux, but they did still win the league. So maybe it will take Ciro time before he's able to get this team playing well in the Champions League...but we still need to be able to make a serious scudetto run and put pressure on Inter until the final day.

As long as Juve can do that then I won't mind too much if we have to wait another season before we become a serious Champions League contender.

I ve heard that the financial differences between the competition have been significally reduced this particular season. However i havent seen any official numbers, maybe Alen can shed some light here!

I doubt that we can through the a team that ranked first of their group, IMO we have been really disappointing in the CL and we were just lucky to have the easy 6points when the other 2 serious contenders were clashing.

Of course everything is possible in football, but i dont like betting on extremely unlikely odds, when we can bet somewhere were the odds can favor us.
I believe we can do better in UEFA cup and if we want a European title in the next 4-7 this is what we should be aiming at!
Just like i wish we win the cup as our realistic domestic target.

Sacrificing target we can accomplish for a wild dream is unwise IMHO.

I m glad we agree on the Ciro point, because that was the point of my argumentation anyway...

fuck the group stages, almost every major team (other than Chelsea) has had a rough ride
Yeah everybody struggles there, both the competent teams
and the average ones, like Juve...
The modern CL offers no guarantees, we used to be a top performer in the past and we were still disqualified by random average teams.
The chances of a random team reaching high, are decent, only because fo their numbers, but the individual chances of those teams to reach high, are as slim as Scudetto chances...
