He was never any good for us. This team doesn't suit him.
So who are the better options, Sissoko and Melo?

Please, they give me stomach cramps every time I see them touch the ball or make a stupid tackle, which is quite often in both cases, unfortunately.

Maybe its just me, but I don't see the reasoning behind this.

He's probably the most composed CM that Juve has. Melo is a reckless time bomb, Sissoko is just not, well, I don't know. He's more athlete than a player.

This doesn't make much sense, especially considering that 4-4-2 is now the preferred formation.

I must be missing something here.

Poulsen's not perfect, by any means, but he certianly isn't horrible either
You aren't missing anything. You're spot on.

Apparently we are now striving for the least intelligent midfield in Europe. A bunch of brainless idiots running around with no rhyme or reason.

Not true.

This is exactly like saying Sissoko was never any good for us.

I'm not sure what the word fair means.

Since the price is substantially less than what Juventus paid for him, Liverpool are buying at a good price, all things considered.
Juve not wanting him kind of depreciates his value to the club. If he has little value to his club, he can't be expected to fetch a high price in the transfer market.

I always though Poulsen was underrated and underutilized. Should have been put at centerback a few times when Chiellini's partners were struggling.

We should have brought back Palladingo instead of Lanzafame.

Then we'd have this midfield:

Pepe - Melo - Sissoko - Palladingo

With this midfield, I will bet a fortune that we'll end up below last season's.

And if some of the fans insist on Barzagli and we do sign him, I will start agreeing with Cronios' relegation claims.

Which makes us the losers.

Don't see a reason to sell him despite his "high wages", unless we want to replace him with a better player. No indication of that.

We love to buy average mediocre players. Things like this Poulsen/Tiago drama happen as a result. We end up on the losing end of an already piss poor and not thought out well decision.

We pay their transfers, then their wages, when they underperform and realize no one will take them because they were overpaid or if they do its at a fraction of the cost of what we paid for them. Now we are stuck with shitty players and starting even shittier ones when we should have bit the bullet the first time around and spend a few million more when we had the chance.

If you calculate the costs incurred over time from these kinds of players then you see that the cost of having them farrrrrrrrrrrr outweighs anything good they may have done in this jersey.

I might be wrong with this, but if Krasic comes, then you are looking at a midfield of

Krasic-Melo/Sissoko-Marchisio-Pepe/Martinez

Krasic and whomever plays on the other side will primarily be in attack. Marchisio, although a CM, will be pushing further up the pitch to take advantage of his offensive skills.

That will leave Melo or Sissoko as the last line in the midfield before the defence.

Sissoko is always injured, Melo is good for at least 3 red cards a season, so who does that leave?

The thought of either one of those two being the anchor, and the calming force of the midfield just scares me.

If its an issue of salary, then just restructure the contract, if that is the case.

I hope to god that they reinforce the LB position and get another CB as a reserve, because the thought of teams counter attacking against that midfield could be a nightmare waiting to happen

The number of Barzagli fans are increasing. That's not a good trend.

I agree.

As far as I can tell, Juve feel the need to get rid of a player or two to make room for new arrivals and Poulsen is the only one that anyone seems to want to buy.

The stupidest midfield in Europe. :touched:

I am totally with you, I am actually one of the very few who wants Poulsen to stay. Well of course I post shit like we should give him a contract extension and a pay raise but what do you want to reply to all the hate being spilled on him and his "high wages"? And mind you, those who mostly complain about his wages have never ever purchased one single official item from Juventus. Not even a Juventus pencil.

If you think the prospects of defending against counterattacks are scary, just ponder the possibilities when WE have the ball. That midfield isn't going to create shit unless Krasic turns out to be an amazing player.

Time to make a sequel to the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Some people, mostly Asians, have a soft spot for young Italiens and they will definitely pop up when news about Barzagli start appearing on excellent football sites like goal.com and tribalfootball.

They probably can't do basic mathS either.
