Sure it's not nice to see and hear but it's a normal thing in pretty much every job. Unless you all work in a dreamland.
I never seen or heard anything like this in the place I work, or anywhere else I have been to. If you insult like this, you probably get shot :D

j/k of course, but sure you ass will get beaten no matter what you will lose in the end.

The hierarchy may be such in theory, but in this case it goes Bale than everyone else. He is the movie as his popularity is pretty much unmatched after The Dark Knight. If anyone on that set could get fired, it sure as hell won't be Bale.
hierarchy shouldn't be the problem neither, like I said before, no matter who you are you should not talk like this, like the one you are talking is a piece of shit, you refuse to work with him, or you warn it, but what the fuck was all that about?

Yes you are right, he is doing that because he is the whole movie project, for this reason he did that, because he is an asshole, he probably forgot what he was or could be before or without this fame. :disagree:

easier said than done in this economy. but i don't think its part of anyone's job description to be berated and verbally threatened like that
That stuff happens all the time, the guys involved in production are pretty used to it. If you notice, no one but Bale raised there voice or seemed too concerned. Even McG was non-chalant with the whole thing. That said, Bale had no right to berate the fellow and will probably make some sort of apology or do an interview in the future.

Well that only speaks of that person's low self esteem. Personally if someone treated me like such crap, I'd fight back. Screw the job, I'll find another one and sue the ass of Bale. But, where I live, employer-employee relationships are not far away from this. If you don't like it, find another job.
I would do the same, but treating these assholes like gods, and overpaying them all that is the reason they talk like that. If he replied back, I bet he wasn't going to find a job somewhere else..

I'm not derfending him, I'm saying I don't see where the big deal is. Is it a rule that a good actor must be a nice guy and not a prick? I don't care about that, I like his movies and that's it.

Personally I'm not a hot-tempered guy but I've thrown occasional tantrums on people who didn't deserve it, just because I had a bad day. Of course, I apologized afterwards.
I like his movies too, and I am not talking about if he is a good actor or not, but what he did is ugly, and that's the topic.

I am not like those who hate people for this :D it's only a reaction/opinion by my side, and it doesn't matter anyway, but I wouldn't defend these kinds of acts no matter how I like him or not.

    Off AICN:

The DP on TERMINATOR SALVATION, Shane Hurlbut, is a apparently a light tweaker. He's a fairly young DP and likes to fiddle with his lights on set during action, which is a big "NO NO" on most productions unless worked out in advance with performers. But apparently Shane was a pretty unrepentant light tweaker.

The scene in question, was a very emotional and tough scene between Christian Bale and Bryce Howard. A scene that required soul bearing and a deep level of immersive concentration. The sort of scene where everyone on set knows not to get in anyone's eye lines, and definitely not to move lights around while FILMING. You lock that shit down before the scene starts.

Bale had indeed warned the DP on multiple occasions about messing with lights while the cameras were rolling, and Bale was in the midst of a painful scene with Bryce, what was described to me as being the emotional center of the film and his character for the film

Not at all, I see it the way I saw before what you wrote. The guy could be a loser, he only did his job wrong, so ask the one who hired him to fire, that simple.

There's a reason why Bale gets to insult people you know, that's all I'm saying. But if you're a man, you get back at him.

Some people don't have such strong characters to stand up for themselves against a tougher person. You're saying its ok for such a person to be berated and talked down to?
