There is no harder league for a striker than serie a, then the epl second, la liga is a bag monkey balls for a striker with the amount of space they get there.

What's up with the English club's fetishes with Del Piero. I mean he is a great player, but DO NOT EVER think that the Premiership is good enough for Del Piero. It would be like putting Beckham ask a bunch of five year olds ;)
If someone finds it false, just remember Zola's Best player awards at his mid 30's. Spanish league is a bit worse, Bundesliga not even worth mentioning.

If he decides to go there, Stamford Bridge will be given a new name in the near future.

Mutu started well there, but has faded, while the much-hyped Crespo (who went for £35,000,000 at one point) has struggled to oust Hasslebaink. Zola was a great little player, and I expect no less from Maradonna's understudy, but Di Canio was little more than a cult figure - he was an above-average creative striker who played like his future rode on every game. Maccarone chose Middlesborough over the top clubs in Italy, and is now struggling against very average English players.

Inter felt differantly when they spent all that on him, and so did Chelsea when they bought him. He's a fine striker, amoung the best out there, but my point isn't how good or bad he is, it's that a hugely successful Serie A striker isn't automaticly urinating on English defenses. Just because they're almost entirely lacking in technique doesn't mean they're not effective.

Mutu is not bad at all, he settled quite well into a team changing every day. Crespo was not healthy for a whole 90 minute in the season. Maccarone didn't collected enough experience in Italy, so he cannot represent Serie A strikers.

Mendieta: Star in Spain, crap in Italy, a decent crap in England.

Actually, Mendieta is crap for a team that's in the lower half of the table in Engladn, while he failed at one of the top teams in Italy. If he was on Liverpool's books, and playing like he is now, he'd be considered a total failure in England too. He did well in Spain at least partly because he fitted into Cuper's system at Valencia perfectly. Don't forget that he was a key player for a team that made the CL final twice in a row. Ahead of all your candy-ass English and Italian 'giants'.

Crespo: league app 7+5
league goals 8

And you not even recognize he scores so often (btw most of the time he hadnt been fully fit), thats tells everything about him, and about epl defs.

Vieiri had a similar strike rate in Italy last year. Crespo is scoring, but he's not playing well, which is why he's not getting his game. Injuries have played a role, but not as big as you seem to think.

Yeah, players such as Totti, DP and Vieri would set Spain on fire. Hell, guys like Di Natale, Chevanton and Bazzani would make more than a name for themselves in La Liga.

I'm surprised that Crespo isn't lighting England up more than he's doing. He's tall, strong, can shoot with both feet, head and even dribble pretty well. He's the ideal striker... I just don't understand  Maybe if he weren't playing under such pressure, like even if he went to Arsenal instead of Chelsea, methinks he'd be doing better
