Whine whine whine.

You know,i dont think i've come across more footballing whiners than i come across on this forum.Im not talking about everyone here.but the tirade against Ranieri has become boring.Either stop doing it,or do it in an interesting way so it doesnt bore the fuck out of everyone.

Out first CL knockout match in a while,an away match, and we lost 1-0.Ofcourse the performance could have been better, but i dont care how the heck you put it,i dont care what you say.A 1-0 loss is an acceptable result by every standard out there.

Weeguru is spot on when he says that it's not Ranieri's fault that the players didnt perform.Molinaro and Ranieri have become old.Pick a new scapegoat. And while you're at it,grow the fuck up too.

camo might not have been great but he had very few support ...
Camo's job is to support the forwards, why would he need support?

1-0 in the end isnt great but its not the worst it could be either. hopefully we can turn it around and play like we all know we can.

I think tomorrow we should all wear black arm bands, I hate to say it, but I think what sucks the most is that we wanted to see our beloved old guard go much further since this could be one of the last champions league where they are able to perform at such high levels. Next years champions league, Alex will be 35, Trez will be 32, Gigi will be 32, Camo will be 33, and Neddy will be 37 watching from the stands...

Regardless, have faith boys, We will see a new Juventus playing with the help of the twelfth man. I think Chelsea doesn't like playing in Italy with the fans taunting them and we could do what Roma did to them (losing 1-0 at stamford bridge and then destroying them at home). Although when they do come back, Chelsea will be stronger yet with Essien most likely back, Carvahlo back, and Deco back (although he will probably be a substitute). Still nonetheless, have faith in our boys, I think they can pull through to the next round, cant wait till the tenth of march.

On a side note, did you guys see who switched jerseys after the game? I saw a lampard drogba interview where drogba was wearing the Juve shirt, anyone have a picture of him wearing it?

1-0 indeed isn't a bad result, I only saw the summary, it could have been worse, it could have been a draw but in the end, it was a fair result IMO.

We can still go through, but it won't be easy (it wasn't in advance).
For those who forgot, Chelsea played the final last season only loosing it by penalties so Chelsea really is European top.
And we are only back for our first season after 3-4 difficult years so let's not be too negative now.
I wouldn't have thought we would already be able to get this far in our first European season after everything that happened the last seasons.
Let's all have faith in the guys and see if they can surprise us, and Chelsea in two weeks.

Molinaro
An embarrassment. Both for himself and for the club. I cannot remember a player who has managed to hold down a first team berth at Juve, in 18 years of supporting the club, who I despise as much as Molinaro. He can't tackle. He has poor pace, a lack of positional intelligence. His crossing is useless. And last night, he made Kalou look world class. That tells a story in itself. And it is largely Molinaro's fault that we were under the kosh for the entire first 15 minutes. Such is the magnitude of his ineptitude, i would rather see Chiellini on the left, Legro, Mellberg and Grygera taking up the other defensive positions. That is, of course, unless De Ceglie is fit and available. Whatever happens during the summer break, Molinaro must not only be replaced, but sold, given away on a free, or hung. 2,10

All in all I'm satisfied, the result is fine(could have/should have been better), the way we played was not particulary beautiful but anyone who says Chelsea destroyed us, or whatever, has got some issues. Chelsea had possibly one more chance than us and that's it. They struggled making anything concrete just as much as we did.

What decided this game is in my opinion Chelsea's physical advantage, the way these guys run and put pressure on the opponent is top notch(like they have 10 Sissokos). We could not penetrate easily, but at least we put up a decent fight and shut them down as much(except for that mistake resulting in a goal).

I don't know what to expect in the return leg, I'm not a pesimist but I'm afraid of their mobility even more. We'll open ourselves much more and if they pressure us, like they did yesterday, we'll struggle again to get a goal in. Not to mention, the counter-attack danger that is Drogba(if Amauri is a beast, this guy's a dinosaur).

It will be tough, I'd start the game with pretty much same players but if a goal didn't come by the 60th, I'd put in Trez for a MC and Giovinco for Nedved and pray for the best. It will be hard to score a goal against them but we need to risk it and what happens, happens.

In the return leg I'm fairly sure we'll start the same team we did today, except maybe Marchisio for Tiago and Marchionni for Camo (If he is injured)... If we don't manage to score the number of goals we need, then expect Ranieri to throw the kitchen sink at Chelsea and have DP, Amauri, Trez and Giovinco all on the field in the last 15-20 mins...

The defeat yesterday was bitter but not the end of the world... The second half display was good, we had Chelsea on the back foot... They didn't attack as much as they could and that was because they gave us too much respect... We could have got that away goal but in the sort of match we saw yesterday getting a goal was difficult... we couldn't get two passes in succession right, yet we seemed to have more possession, which means that Chelsea too gave away possession... The only thing against us is the fact that Hiddink will have two more weeks to work with this team so they can only get stronger... Hopefully by then we'll have Chiellini match fit and the defence will learn to play again...

Alen, if you aren't too busy, can you get stats of Hiddinks away results in the CL... just for kicks :D

Hiddink never coached a team of this calibre which makes his history somehow irrelevant.

Chelsea fan quotes:

why don't we have a Marchionni? He gave Ashley nightmares and it took Hiddink a fair while to do anything about it.

I got a good view of him in the second half, being right in the West corner of the Shed Lower. I thought he was their stand-out player. Great work rate and caused us all sorts of problems.

But no, of course, the realists of our forums are right to say that he was crap this game.

molinaro hasnt got pace? what juve games are you guys seeing?
He is fast when going forward, but when the pressure is on, and he is chasing back, with an opponent on his shoulder, he seems to lose a yard or three of pace.

Every time I have seen him play especially since Christmas he has been poor. I know Kalou, through watching chelsea's games for the last couple of years when I was living in England with a hardcore chelsea supporter. he has never looked as good as he did last night. Not because he suddenly became a decent player. But due to molinaro's lack of defensive qualities. He often simply does everything wrong in a game. Even MArchionni had a decent shot and also made two crosses which posed questions of the defence and keeper. I am no fan of either of those two, but at least Marco is capable of creating opportunities, and can shoot, now and then...Molinaro wouldn't get into the Gillingham starting XI, he makes too many errors. And should not be in our squad, let alone the first team. But Ranieri seems reluctant to lose Chiellini from the centre, and I can understand why. And De Ceglie remains injured...speaking of which, when is he due to return*** is there any chance he will be fit for the return leg of this tie***

Don't forget that Roma lost 0-1 at home to Chelsea, but Roma beat them at home. 3-1.

The Olimpico pitch is five metres longer (suits us more) and our home support is better. Entering the 2nd leg with a different attitude, I think we have every chance in the world to win.

Im just worried about our defence...we mustn't concede in order to have any chance of going through...

Yesterday Juventus played a nice second half and had many chances to draw the game , but I didn't liked the defence for example Molinaro was really slow with Kalou and Chelsea goal was a mistake of the defence.

I hope the second leg they will make more effort in defence we really need it.
