Don't forget that Roma lost 0-1 at home to Chelsea, but Roma beat them at home. 3-1.

The Olimpico pitch is five metres longer (suits us more) and our home support is better. Entering the 2nd leg with a different attitude, I think we have every chance in the world to win.
Thank you. I regained confidence thanks to your post. Seriously!

I'm proud of some juventuz members, i really am. I'm not being sarcastic and i'm not talking about those who bash everything related to this team. I'm talking about the other members. I enjoyed reading some posts here.

I watched the match for the third time this morning. Chiellini was indeed our worst player. He was below average in defense and criminally awful with his passing. Molinaro was also very bad but he was made to look bad by Chelsea, unlike Chiellini who was making mistakes even when he wasn't under pressure. Camo was our second worst player after Giorgio.
Marchionni had a very good match and my MOtM is definitely Mellberg. He was a rock.

110km Chelsea- 114.8km Juventus.
It looked to me that we outran Chelsea and we were first on every ball in midfield for most of the match, but i couldn't find the stats to confirm that. Fortunately, they gave these stats at the end of the match and i could see why did it look to me that we outran them. We actually ran almost 5 km more than they did, which is huge difference in these kind of matches.

But it's all useless. We lost and nothing will change that. The only thing that changed for me is that now, unlike after the match, i think we have much bigger chances than the 20% i gave yesterday. Every match is a different story, but if yesterday's match was an indication about the strenght of both teams then we stand a great chance to eliminate Chelsea.

It's a shame that some members go on hating this team and they have been doi´ng that for the past five years. For five years they have been supporting a team they hate its manager, they hate its style of play and even hate a bunch of its players.

And when I say "hate", I mean "hate" not "dislike"

 word up to all of them, I'm confident that given the fans scream for 90 or more mins we can make the difference that is required by us to turn round this tie, we haven't been in the best of form recently so we can at least use the next two games to get the momentum giong again.

Camo's job is to support the forwards, why would he need support?
how to support someone that does not play his part ? how can someone give a assist to a striker that is just not in the box when it matters ?

i am only talking about certain situations in the first half from yesterdays game.

as if you blame a winger to not assist with his crosses, while no one is in the box to receive the crosses

besides the loss we did quite well ... except ofcourse for sissoko's passing ... i think he was suffering from peer pressure or something on the lines of " im playing against my previous league rivals, so im scared and they have me under pressure" i dnt no but thats what i felt from the look on his face and the way he was being undecisive... tiago had one great pass!!! that del pieros couldnt finish well cause it was a tough angle ... and trezeguet should have scored at the end he didnt connect it ... ranieri should have put trez earlier so he can get a better feel for the game, vinny should play in our home game!!! and why the hell isnt our coach using our best wing talent???? GIO!!!! .. he would have raped the wing backs!, this team is great in the way they handle football but we should take advantage of our talents ... look at man u and arsenal they tend to do so and they get good results ... but anw id just like to say forza nedved!!! MOM!!! and marchionni, came on to cross pretty well!... legro and chiellini werent in sync at the beginging!!! ... and oh one more thing, FORZA JUVE!!!

Man, Chiellini really looked stale in this game, must be those injuries that keep him on and off the pitch, making him losing the sharpness and fitness. The same can be applied to Camo as well, and this injury isn't doing him any good. Molinaro? Man this player really looked like an amatuer that has just played his 1st game against big teams, making schoolboy mistakes here and there. The only thing I can say for this loss is due to inexperience. 2nd half is a mass improvement from the first, if only the finishing isn't that bad.

On an optimistic view, we conceded away not at home and the scoreline is only 1-0. Chelsea will have a hard time coming to Turin to get a result. Remember the 2004-05 CL where Real Madrid won 1-0 at home and Juventus kicked them 2-0 with Zalayeta scoring the fatal goal at extra time? This is the self-belief that we Juventus fans should believe in our team, a team that is demoted to Serie B and is back in the CL with the top guns in their 2nd season back in Serie A.

I know the present team is much inferior compared to 2004-2005, but this team, the one which lost to Chelsea 1-0, defeated Real Madrid twice this season. I'm sure the players and Ranieri will definitely work much harder and fans in Turin will scream all the way throughout the game till they become hoarse. We will definitely make ourselves heard in Europe!

All in all I'm satisfied, the result is fine(could have/should have been better), the way we played was not particulary beautiful but anyone who says Chelsea destroyed us, or whatever, has got some issues. Chelsea had possibly one more chance than us and that's it. They struggled making anything concrete just as much as we did.

What decided this game is in my opinion Chelsea's physical advantage, the way these guys run and put pressure on the opponent is top notch(like they have 10 Sissokos). We could not penetrate easily, but at least we put up a decent fight and shut them down as much(except for that mistake resulting in a goal).

I don't know what to expect in the return leg, I'm not a pesimist but I'm afraid of their mobility even more. We'll open ourselves much more and if they pressure us, like they did yesterday, we'll struggle again to get a goal in. Not to mention, the counter-attack danger that is Drogba(if Amauri is a beast, this guy's a dinosaur).

It will be tough, I'd start the game with pretty much same players but if a goal didn't come by the 60th, I'd put in Trez for a MC and Giovinco for Nedved and pray for the best. It will be hard to score a goal against them but we need to risk it and what happens, happens.

How long do you expect the forwards to stay in the box waiting when they are not receiving support from the midfielders?

ALL forwards in the world of football draw back to collect the balls when their midfielders are failing to do their job, something Camoranesi was doing yesterday.

that is exactly the task of the target man ... be the spear head of (counter) attacks... if every striker draws back, than you can't play efficient counter attacks, because no one can receive the quick passes into the attack

as i think that amauri is supposed to be that target man, he should be the one to watch for this situations and rush on chelseas last defender, when he sees that someone of our players gets into a position, where he can get a cross/pass behind their defense.

But it's all useless. We lost and nothing will change that.
but it was an individual error which did cost us ... not a complete team failure ...
the pass to drogba was just a lucky pass ... no way kalou did see that chiellini did break our offside trap ... he just played the ball "aimlessly" forward in hope someone will get it ...

i was watching the game with a schalke supporter and he asked me how slow chiellini is, that he lost that running duel in the first half, where he plays the ball to an opponent and the ball is played to the edge of the box immediately ... kalou did look faster as him.

the upside of things is, that not every individual mistake is punished like that and drogba got lucky that his shot went in. did you see how he hit the ball and how it bounced before flying into the goal .... he might have missed the goal, if he had hit it straight.

Chelsea fan quotes:

why don't we have a Marchionni? He gave Ashley nightmares and it took Hiddink a fair while to do anything about it.

I got a good view of him in the second half, being right in the West corner of the Shed Lower. I thought he was their stand-out player. Great work rate and caused us all sorts of problems.

But no, of course, the realists of our forums are right to say that he was crap this game.
Marchionni and Nevded bashers are fags, seriously..

yea guys, think positive, we are JUVE, we're a team that never gives up, yea we lost 1-0, but we lost 1-0 to madrid a few years ago and then won 2-0 at home, if chelsea can be beaten 3-1 by roma, we can do the same, don't forget that, it will be tough no doubt, but did u guys think it would be easy against chelsea? no, we can do this, graem souness is the biggest cock on earth, but even he admitted that chelsea will find it hard in turin, i know chelsea fans who are worried, we can do this!!!

    FORZA JUVE!
