watch Mustafi here ::lol3::

He's arguing with someone instead of following Thiago. I'm a serious player. ::lol3::

These 1/8 matches played so far made me realize we are among 3 main favorites to lift the trophy this year.

I've never been so confident.

Napoli isnt first in the league, so they dont play the best football. I dont care they are good at killing $#@!ty the relegation $#@! with 14-0 scores. Its about results. That "great possession play" doesnt outscore the opponent enough.

Napoli failed hard. They asked their 3 forwards to operate isolated when somehow in a bazillion years, they get a pass into their feet (they cant controll $#@! unless its like that). Without backup the first 4 decades.

If you have Higuain or Cavani, thats just fine. If you have actual world class quick forwards, thats also fine. Napoli doesnt have players who can do that.

Then they expected to get past that midfield with quick flicks. Thats fine when you have players like Griezman (athletico liked to do that alot on counters, committing limited players but they could combine like lightning), or verratti who needs one glaze and half a touch to send a blind 40 meter pass onto cavani's third shoelace line.
Napoli cant do that. they $#@!ed that up consistantly, cause they lack the ability to do so.

Sarri asked far to much from the players he has. They arent good enough.

He should play at their strenghts. Let them move much higher up the field, immediatly press forward wide down the wing and have Mertens and Hamsic move in the space it creates. There is alot of space to be abused

However, they didnt do that, madrid simply took the ball back each time, and their fullbacks could play like offensive wingers cause they had no need to cover behind them, as napoli never send the numbers which would actually make it a risk to do so.

Hazard is a player who requires good coaching. Which is why he sucks balls playing for belgium, but turns into worldclass when managed by an actual tactician, and not $#@!ty the wilmots $#@!.

Mertens is a nice quick forward. No need to overpraise him. Higuain would have done better and scores at least once.
you lost me at ' athletico ' but still i would like to say something , napoli lost because of their own mistakes and they were scared as well , losing the ball so many times in their own half and madrid capitalized on that it doesn't mean madrid dominated them completely , their finishing was sub par , one fluke goal and a goal because of defensive errors , now if i come to napoli they were simply scared and kudos to them for playing their own game even if it meant problems for them and we saw what happened when they tried to play out of the back instead of clearing the ball , and late in the game they looked like their own self full with confidence but it was too late . Still i have faith in napoli , it's not easy to play at san paolo for any team and i hope napoli will learn from their mistakes and fix all those defensive issues , if they score early then anything can happen , i was disappointed with napoli but they did what they had to do , i'm happy for sarri , a great coach with firm beliefs , the second leg will be an exciting match .

p.s mertens is brilliant , i know he missed a goal but napoli didn't create that many chances either but i'm sure we will see a better mertens in the return match.

Lizerazu, Diesler didnt have time to win anything, one of the saddest wasted talents in the sports history.
My dad stayed in the same hotel as Deisler in 2002 in Italy. It was right after his first acl rupture iirc.

Back then an acl tear was much more career threatening than it is today (it still is, but most bounce back these days) and Deisler looked very depressed. Apparently you could tell the lad was a bit emotional and maybe not cut out for a world as tough as professional football.

I still think he would have made if his knee would have let him though.

Mertens should be used down the wing, with alot of freedom to drift around.

Don't know, Benfica got lucky they didnt lose that game. Dortmund was all over them, at home they should trash benfica 3-0, 4-0.
With rest agree, maaaaybe Leicester may pull off some miracle. They are different in CL

Thing is, I seen Dortmund couple times recently, they are incapable of thrashing anyone it seems. Injuries and young squad has shown how extremely fragile they are, they are dangerously close to not getting CL spot next season at this rate.

They trashed couple teams this season (6-0 Legia, 8-4 Legia, 1-5 Wolfsburg, 4-1 Borussia M). If they don't waste again so many chances and be clinical, they should be just fine

They aren't that team anymore past 2 months, tho certainly have the potential to again. But a lot of low scoring games lately, narrow losses to likes of Darmstadt, Frankfurt, tons of draws vs mid level clubs etc. They lost their killer ability (their performance vs Benfica wasn't just unlucky, that's how they keep losing pts) and had no genuine stability to begin with.

Their last big win was vs BMG 4-1, and that was a week or two after Legia freak score. It was bad omen for what was to come for them anyways that they conceaded 4 goals against such a small club.

Anyways wether they turn it around at home or not, I remain skeptical of their chances in doing anything going forward.

Lol trust me I know their successful placing. Have uncle and cousins who live there and are fans(some of them sudden fans lol). Already joking about coming down to them to see their personal Jesus Vallejo absolve Juve of its sins in next CL season lol.

Like they gonna keep any of their players lol, seems like half of them are loaned from elsewhere.

Who's the biggiest asset they own to give them profit? Stendera? Not likes a of Meier, Hasebe and Hrgota lol.
