Acctually he is good passer
Chiellini's passing:
12 games
Accurate/Total passes - 819/900 (Pirlo 794/887)
Avg. - 75 per game (Pirlo 68.2)
Pass success - 91% (Pirlo 89.5%)

Number one in team :seven:

just saying most of his passes are short ones around the defence, Pirlo's are cross field and big through balls, some are bound to fail

Sure, those stats are deceiving as they were built up by passing square to Bonucci or Asamoah. In the last couple of games he's had to play more difficult passes, and I'd guess he's still around 75% with them.

There's no denying that his technique leaves a lot to be desired.

What a Beast!

A commentater once joked that "the 'patch' on Giorgio's head was where the Juve doctors operated and planted a 'football magnet' in his head" because he kept beating his opponents to the ball.

It was certainly working when that corner was taken! :D

Quite the opposite, imo. On more than one occasion he was easily outran, even outmuscled and outjumped in our box. He and Pogba lost surprisingly many duels.
What about those blocks he did on Diamanti? Diamanti was going crazy not being able to get past him. He was that arrogant rock solid beast again that get under that skin of the opponent, and we love so much.
Sure he got a coupla markings and runs wrong, but overall I liked his resilience and fighting attitude, which was kinda missing recently.
