Calciopoli Watch: Moggi Says Calciopoli Was A Conspiracy; Inter Won't Hand Back Scudetto; More New Calls Surface.
Goal.com rounds up the biggest Calciopoli stories of the day so far...
By Salvatore Landolina Apr 15, 2010 11:00am

Luciano Moggi has continued to plead his innocence in relation to Calciopoli & he has alleged that there was a plot to oust him & Juventus because they were too successful.
Moggi is being accused of association to defraud at the on-going criminal Calciopoli trial in Naples. But, he is out to prove he was merely doing what others did, by calling referee designators, & on Tuesday presented evidence of calls involving of clubs.
The trial resumes next Tuesday, but out of the court room the battles continue.
"I was never the black sheep of football. I was placed in a certain situation so that others could stay there and do what they wanted," he told Canale 5.
"I was accused because my team was a winning one, and they were the strongest. If the team had lost a few times then all of this would not have happened.
"People claimed that everything Juventus did had an influence on results, but if you look at the phone calls then the latest are the most problematical."
Tuttosport are reporting that Inter president Massimo Moratti could be summoned to appear before the federal prosecutor Stefano Pallazzi to answer questions into the new wave of calls that involve Inter. The FIGC, who deal with the sporting aspect such as relegations and the assignment of titles, are likely to open up another investigation when they receive a batch of evidence from the trial in Naples next week.
As well as Moratti, several others are expected to be called in after evidence involving Roma, Palermo, Cagliari, Bologna and Reggina came to light.
Reports suggest that the FIGC investigation into Tuesday's evidence may open up a new scenario in which Inter could be revoked of the Scudetto that was assigned to them following the sporting Calciopoli process in 2006.
The son of former Inter president Giancinto Facchetti, Gianfelice, has said it would be the right thing for the Nerazzurri to hand back the Scudetto, but the Milanese club are in no mood to unclench their fists and rejected the suggestion.
"It would be a good gesture [to hand back the title to Juve] and it would give us plenty more points in terms of our history. Restoring the Scudetto would be a winning move," Gianfelice said.
But, ANSA.it reported the feeling inside Inter's offices in Milan, and the club are showing broad shoulders. Inter have not released an official response to Gianfelice's claim, but voices claim they are in no mood to hand anything back to Juventus. Inter fear their fans would turn their backs on the club if they bowed to pressure from outside.
That Scudetto has always been mocked as the 'Scudetto di Cartone' (cardboard scudetto) because it was handed to the club through the offices of the FIGC's commission who at the time was made up of Gerhard Aigner and Guido Rossi - the man who received death threats because of the title assignment to Inter.
It's Aigner who now claims there was no legal precedent that forced the powers that be to give the Nerazzurri the title.

"We did not decide to give the title to Inter, we just said that from a technical point of view it could have been done," he told Telelombardia.

"Inter's name was not proposed to us, but we had to make up the league standings because of issues related to the European cups, but it was not necessary to give that title to any team."

Meanwhile, more than 6,500 new calls and contacts have emerged and are likely to be uncovered at the next hearing on Tuesday. Tuttosport claims they show a number of calls in which the discussing of the referee grids is a common theme.
Goal.com has been following all the twists and turns from Naples and around the peninsula in relation to this new wave of Calciopoli.

What I find annoying, is you guys asking "You scudetto back" ..

when what you should ask is "Inter go to Serie B"

This is the annoying part.Cheaters should get punished, even if teams 20 clubs from serie a to serie b.

Roma did cheat, when others surround you cheated (inter, milan and juve) Roma did not cheat? Gimme a break.Everbody in serie a cheats, admit it.

It doesnt matter. The fact is, every club was involved to certain extent. And Juve were kings of corruption.

You have to admit here, be objective..And tell me one of this.

"Juve cheated along with others"

or

"No one cheated"

If you say the second you are pathetic. If you say the first, you admit what your club is on.
Lol how come it's "cheating" if it's common for every club? Can you please comment on how Juve actually cheated an what exactly did they gain from it, if others were cheating too?
MU stealing players like Macheda is cheating, you should have left that honesty argument behind you when you became a United fan.

Roma were not indicted - moRATti forgot about them, didn't he? Roma gave :inter: a good run for their money in 2006/7 season. If it weren't for some disgraceful, biased officiating in :inter: 's favour, Roma would have won that scudetto.

As for :inter: being innocent........

....it's already obvious that they are the biggest cheats of European football! The can of worms is being opened in the current trial in Naples.

I'd make that Serie C - after all, that is where moRATti intended to have us put.

Welcome to the forums! :)

Turk will chew him up and spit him out!

You - honest?????? Ignorant, yes, but whether or not you are honest is debatable. If you consider :inter: and yourself to be as honest as each other then you are definitely NOT honest. Only interesti, who are brain dead BTW, think inter are honest.

Whether or not you are a man is also debatable. That depends on the standards that you set for someone qualifying for the title of 'man'.

You fail mine, well and truly, BTW!

:sigh: Oh, dear! We have a glory hunter here!

Great post :D

Another way to look at this situation is,

Italy is going down anyway these years, thats the nature of football, no one is always on top, things gonna change, like some years between Trap era and lippi era we were not that great. but then again we raised as a greatest team of word again.

But think about future, when these things become history. like how its now with people from outside who are not into details very much, still know Juve as a match-fixing cheater.because we officially get punished. If Inter get away without punishment, They will never be one. they are still the one who spent their whole history in Serie A, and we will still be the team who spent a year in Serie B for 2006 match-fixing scandal, as they call it. The rest that we know now wont be fact then.

So, why not let Italian football suffer a little more, and have more patient, but also let the history written correctly on this thing. Thats how I look at it if something is really going to happen.

I also would like to see how would inter club, players and fans react if they go to Serie B. Will they feel something even a little similliar to what we felt when we had World champions, Golden ball winner and best keeper in world in Serie B with us and fighting for us with the love they had for our club? I personally dont think so, cant see their stars staying with them down there. They are not going to feel that PRIDE and I wont take away their chance to be jealous of our club anytime :D

Admit, United is a dirty, disgusting 16yo-stealing club and their supporters should be the last ones talking about honesty. Raise your own talents or pay the club a normal price for their job not steal them while you can. Disgusting club, disgusting transfer policy.

You "forgot" to define "cheating", seems like you're pretty empty and have no arguments, just usual blabbering I'd expect from a truly ignorant EPL follower.

Even though silly, I can see why an Interista would join our forum, but a United fan?

He's just a shit stirrer, best ignored.

This will only give pages of flaming back n forth.
