Juventus ends talks on Tamoil sponsorship renewal without revamped deal

"Juventus and Oilinvest have agreed on a friendly basis that the team will continue to wear shirts with the Tamoil brand until the end of the 2006-2007 season," Juventus said in a statement.

Juventus and Oilinvest signed a five-year, 110 mln eur sponsorship contract in March 2005. The Dutch firm Oilinvest terminated the contract when Juventus was relegated to Serie B for match-fixing.

    TAMOIL give us the boot...

Juventus have lost out on a massive £160m after oil giants Tamoil rescinded their shirt sponsorship contract with the club.

The Bianconeri did have a deal in place with the company until 2010, but their relationship will now terminate at the end of the present campaign.

Juventus had been in talks with Oilinvest Bv, who control Tamoil, to renegotiate terms following the club’s demotion to Serie B.

However, after months of negotiations, no compromise could be reached as the club failed to convince Tamoil to stay on board.

It’s being reported in Italy on Friday that their decision to leave the Old Lady will cost the outfit an incredible £160m.

The Bianconeri were set to net £70m between 2005 and 2010, with the rest of the funds promised between July 2010 and June 2015 should they have taken up on their option to extend.

Instead, Juve have collected just £24m from the contract that had to be reassessed given that the club were no longer in Serie A and out of the Champions League.

The loss of funds may have a deep impact on the side’s future seeing as they were looking to buy big in the summer.

Numerous star players have already warned officials that they will only stay in Turin if the squad is competitive at the highest levels once they complete their expected return to Serie A.

Juventus had already seen their Sky Italia TV and Nike contracts reduced by 30 per cent following their Calciopoli enforced demotion.

OMG they are Dutch? Stomme eikels!
I hope Juve will survive this and please let it not be a sponsor like bet&win because Gigi might finds himself with them again.
We really need some Cash injections now!

oh common, this was coming, right from the start tamoil didn't want anything to do with a serie b club. we'll find a new sponsor of course, will the deal better than tamoil is uncertain, unlikely, but this won't kill the club. a new sponsor is probably already being negotiated.

It will hardly be better than the curent one, and we were supposed to get 3 stars and increase salaries of our current stars.

Fiat should be headsponsor. That would look nice, and it's real Juventus:D

    Hahahahhaha
well, what is the sense of that?
Agnelli own FIAT, this means FIAT owns juve, It is not making sense to put the FIAT logo, this will not bring money to the club.. we need other sponsors

tamoil was the best sponsor deal in the world of football (i remember to have read that)...

and yeah there is no problem finding a new sponsor, but its gonna be a very very big problem to buy the star players we want to in the summer! and even a bigger problem to keep the ones we got now!!!
only an abromovich type will save us.. i hope there will be one, but not russain, someone from the agnelli family i hope.!!
