The Prince by Machiavelli. I've started reading it because I guess it's one of those books you just have to be able to say you've read. Not the most entertaining thing, so far, but some very useful things to learn.

How could you not find it entertaining? Never threaten to do something if you're not planning on doing it. In fact, never threaten at all. Just do it.

It is necessary for him who lays out a state and arranges laws for it to presuppose that all men are evil and that they are always going to act according to the wickedness of their spirits whenever they have free scope.


Machiavelli is intro stuff, CVC is where it's at.
