I have not heard of it no, and I doubt i'd be interested in reading a liberalisation thesis on something which is a fallacy at its very base, I do not see the point :p.
I know, but you're a fundamentalist. You're saying whatever could happen in Islam the whole thing is complete bs anyway and we have to get rid of it.

But if you could liberalize it and introduce some gender equality, make it less authoritarian etc, then you could potentially make it relatively harmless, like Christianity is

That defeats the purpose of freeing your fellow man from the shackles of theism.

The more you make religion similar to our worldview the less of a canyon there is to cross, the easier to give up. If you're able to tell someone that they can have the exact same life they already have but without the man in the sky, it's a lesser compromise.

Today I'm reading Coetzee - Disgrace. A book I just found around the house.

You'd think they wouldn't just hand out Nobel prizes to people at random, and that it took a certain amount of effort to read books of that nature, but this thing is such an easy read.

Anyway, don't know what I think of it yet. Took a good while to get going but now I'm past halfway and it's starting to go places.
