Haruki Murakami - Kafka on the Shore - My first taste of Murakami. Pretty weird, but some decent food for thought.

Haruki Murakami - South of the Border, West of the Sun - Personally I liked it better than Kafka, simply because it didn't deal with the metaphysical so much. A relatively quick read too.

Martin Hersey - Hiroshima - Eyewitness accounts from citizens of Hiroshima in the days and years following the dropping of the atomic bomb. A real eye-opener for me personally... some pretty chilling and sad stuff.

I recently finished Singularity Sunrise by Charles Stross. Good space opera, lots of interesting ideas, decent characterisation.
