This was Pitts breakthrough somewhat complex performance as an actor IMO, he did a good job. Only know him from indie/teen movies as the effeminite little nerdy type before this.

wait a second Al Capone,Lucky Luciano,Meyer Lansky and Arnold Rothstein are wheeling and dealin crooks? jesus christ i hate to see who you thiunk real gansters are
They havent really been using the first 3 much, I mean as main focal points as Jimmy was, while Rothstein is deffo been more like a savvy wheeler and dealer then someone like Al Capone.

I'm glad they killed him off, the character is totally badass but that Pitt dude can't pull it off. His face is just too fuckin girly. Shoulda picked someone darker and brooding.
He kinda has to be that way though. He's the kid who was supposed to go to Princeton and do great legal things; at least that's what was expected of him and Nucky was gonna foot the bill. That explains why he looks nothing like a gangster and why you can tell he did shit even though it didn't feel right. But he became a product of his mindfucked upbringing.

Great ending to BE season 2, I didn't expect Jimmy to get axed like that, but it's a ballsy move killing off one of the main characters, but then again Terence Winter was never one to shy away from ballsy decisions. Can't wait for S3 :D

But I gotta say, one thing made me think the writers were getting lazy and sloppy:
No head doctor disses on the donor's wife. EVER.

I'm really not anxious about this show anymore, ever since I saw season 2's ending. The writers got really big shoes to fill with Jimmy's death. And that bitch Margaret is still alive.

True dat. I mean, a writer who does something like that ain't f*ing around with some wimpy-assed plotline.

I tell you though, after seeing episode 1 of the new, third season -- the killing hasn't stopped. There ain't gonna be any regulars left at this rate.

Still, good episode though.

Even in the 20's?
I thought about that. I.e., was the status of women so low that even a rich benefactor will get a dressing down to suggest something infront of a head doc.

But even though it's clear that's some feminist direction the show is heading with her, I think the writing is lazy b.s. There is no way some hospital getting a massive millionaire grant will diss on an inquiring suggestion from Lady Vanderbilt.

one thing? you are nice, i just saw the first 2 episodes of the new season, and boy did the quality of the dialogue dip. I wont comment on the storyline yet as it is still developing. Also why are they so intent on making margaret detestable to the point where i am tempted to fast-forward any of her scenes.
