Well it was prettymuch a win win situation, Fiorentina were desperate to find somebody to partner and support Toni. Mutu suited this role far more better than Bojinov.
On our side we got a youngster who was very highly rated in his teens. At one stage I think he was playing better football than rooney. A player that is far in age to DP and Trez, so ti reduce first team rotational problems.

We have more time to evaluate, and save our much needed cash flow.
Mark I think the clause is embedded in the contract so we shouldnt worry too much about Fiorentina changing down their mind. What is written on it, stays there.

I am pretty certain that we will exercise our option on Bojinov. 6m euro for such talented young player is nothing. But we have surplus of strikers here and it would be better if we do not have to spend extra cash. I am not too sure Fiorentina will take it, but Miccoli, Mutu, Toni could be devastating trio in Serie A. Worth a try. All of course, is based on the presumption Benfica doesnt exercise their option - which I dont think they will. They just wanted Micco to play for them for free, option to just smoothe things out.

this is not a win win situation, if we dont pay nothing for Bojinov,
Fiorentina can keep him and Mutu for nothing and we will keep the 8mil,
if you consider 8mil for Mutu a good deal then...its a win
we are forced to buy Bojinov now...
on the other hand if we manage to pull the 6 mil that would mean Bojinov+2mil = Mutu thats a good deal but i really doubt it, i think its going to be 4+Blasi(2-4mil)
if we involve Miccolli at any case we loose any way...
